Adiron
I can't tell from here but if your brother has no reason to hurt your feelings and has good reason to try to be supportive then I'm inclined to believe that yes, you do in fact smell. Here's a few things you can try. a) Take a good hard look at your personal hygiene, is it up to par, do you apply enough deoderant in the right places? b) ask a few friends, tell them you believe you have an issue with odor and can they give you some honest feedback? But you need to do it in such a way that they won't feel obligated to lie to you to avoid hurting your feelings.

Art_Critic
Do you have a diet that might lend to bad smelling sweat, like a lot of curry... We have had to have the conversation with someone at work many years ago, he was Iranian and his diet was such that he had BO, once we had the conversation he carried around a can of deodorant and sprayed the air after he had been working in a room for a long time.. it was pretty bad.. but he had no idea that he let off an offensive odor... Tough thing for your brother to speak to you about, I would ask him about it since he broached the subject... Maybe she has just got a sensitive nose and is making a mountain out of a mole hill...
stillafool
Did you ask your brother what you smell like? What type of shampoo do you use?
preraph
Do you smoke or go places where smoke is thick? If so, that's what it is. Bath or no bath. So to be safe, use breath mints or gargle in case it's coming from your mouth. I have a friend who has very stale smell and it's her breath, I finally decided. Change soaps and wash with soap real good. Use deodorant, and you can use it anyplace you sweat, like your bra line or waistband. Change the type you've been using. Try Mitchum roll-on for men, no scent. It works good. Dead skin cells are another thing that make a body smell and are responsible for "old lady" smell, so once a week, use a body scrub and exfoliate or make one with ultrafine seasalt and olive oil put in the microwave for just a few seconds until slightly warm. Not long enough to dissolve it. Clean between your toes, keep your socks clean, don't reuse underwear, obviously. See if your shoes smell. You can get spray for that too.
alphamale
do you wear clean clothes and do the laundry regularly?
basil67
Unless he has a history of actively undermining you, I would be inclined to believe him. And yes, I'm also wondering if you smoke.
Adiron
Are you overweight? It's been my experience that fat people tend to have body odor, and my theory is that it's either because they are unable to reach all the trouble spots and/or because they're not in good physical condition they exert themselves a lot more than normal during a typical workday and sweat more.

Adiron
in my experience fat people smell no more or no less than anyone else Our experiences clearly differ. I work in a medical office and am close to lots of people- as in right next to them- all day long.

That's a good point, I know someone that always smells musty or moldy, he leaves the laundry in the washer too long and it gets musty or moldy.. the dryer leaves the smell in.. we joke around and call him old moldy...

SJS
My first thought was, he's your brother - of course he says you smell! lol. Do you wear cologne/Axe spray? Or maybe it's the specific scent of your deodorant?

whichwayisup
Nobody else has told you, especially your friends..Trust me, if you have a good trusted friend, they will tell you if you do smell. Don't listen to your brother. Maybe he just doesn't like how you smell! Doesn't mean that you actually smell.
