seren Posted August 8, 2018 Share Posted August 8, 2018 My son and his wife live 650 miles away, he has worked away for over 15 yrs. he rings me most days, usually when he is driving to or from work or to the gym (yes on speaker phone). We just chat about day to day stuff, I like as well as love my son, he makes me laugh and we share the same sense of humour, he's in a dangerous and stressful job and sounds off to me. he and his wife are moving nearby in the next few months, we are all happy about that. Both mine and my husband's parents are dead, I wish they were on the end of a phone to talk to. I am housebound and disabled, I am 61 and my husband 55, I think our boy thinks we are ancient and about to pop our clogs. As long as it makes everyone happy I don't see any problem with daily calls, if it is forced or just a duty call, then I wouldn't want that. 1 Link to post Share on other sites
