Setting a 10 year age limit is pretty healthy. Prevents narcissistic men from bothering you. Thoughts?

Narcissism doesn't have an age-limit, so without context, my thought is that no, it won't prevent anything.

Because if you are approached (my experience is on OLDs), by men 15-20+ years older than you, it seems like they are narcissistic. Perhaps if you met organically, but I think men who hunt after younger women have large egos.

I think here's the issue. A lot of times what a man finds attractive in a woman doesn't change even as he ages. Also, I think once men hit 45, they get really bold. Some guys take 'women don't care about looks' to its logical extremes. Most guys who try to hit on me are younger than me or older than me. People in my area marry quickly, so the 20 years olds and 50 year olds are the ones who are single.

I've dated older guys, but I don't know if avoiding them prevents finding a narcissistic man.

I hear you. I don't necessarily disagree, but it wouldn't hurt to have male perspectives. I think older men can start to prefer women who are more mature emotionally, etc. So while they may physically prefer a 20 year old, they may actually want to date an older woman for other reasons. Thoughts?

Do you currently have an age limit?

I figure I'll change things up and chase 22 yo men for a while. Although I'm 30, my upper limit is 26. No narcissists under 26. plus men above 27 are pretty much expired.

Edit to my previous post.

Hard truth. So far in my life it seems like most men want young women. If a man is 70, he still wants that 20 year old. At that age only rich men will pull 20 some things. Fifty is a funny age in which a few guys still look really good. Most don't, and I see them the way they see the average woman their age.

I tried to explain that to my former cyber stalker. At 50, recently homeless, and skinny fat, young women don't want him. Once again, some men take "love me for what's on the inside" way too far.

They want a 20 year old with the maturity of a 50 year old woman.

More like they want a 50 year old that hasn't let herself go to shyt-like a lot of her peers.....Its not that complicated, and it's not any type of conspiracy...;)

And he is 50 with the maturity of a 20 year old and let himself go but that's all good.

Ditto the 60 y/os that I keep meeting on OLD. Looking back on the 'women in my life' (not the ones I've had relationships with, but the whole population), how old they look is normally distributed. The mean keeps moving to higher ages, but after mid-20s that mean is always less than chronological age and at least as far as early 60s the difference between mean looks age and chronological age keeps increasing.

Not so much with women older than me. Perhaps the 'liberated Boomer women' who came of age in the late 1960s and early 1970s were the first generation who learned about lifestyles that worked to keep them young. I certainly see that in the males in my family. For example I was of the first generation that never smoked, did aerobic exercise all my life, and didn't eat beef as my 'most frequent' meat.

I'm not an expert on narcissism, but I've met plenty of people who are narcissists...worked with plenty of them too. I don't know that age really played into it other than the fact that the older the narcissist the longer they've had to accumulate their "food chain" and/or discard things from their lives that no longer contribute to their food chain. Narcissists need things in their life that feed their ego in big ways. We all have egos and we all tend to feed our egos instinctually...but with narcissists it's blown up. There is almost nothing more "trippy" to an aging narcissist than to know he has some young hot thing in his back pocket or what have you. For the younger narcissist: he might get a big trip out of being able to get an older experienced cougar in the sack and satisfy her. Some older women have insatiable sex drives. It just depends.
