bald men

Being bald I think I'm qualified to say that having no hair is a real turn-off for many women. I've noticed I don't get as much attention as I used to when I did have hair.

I'm interested to know from other bald men how losing their hair has affected their dating experiences?

I'm always taking notice when I see a couple where the guy is bald and notice that in most cases the woman is average to below average looking. It's quite rare to see a bald man with a very attractive lady.

Got me early. I think I was about 15 when someone told me they can see through the hair on my crown.

I've done okay with women. I've had my frustrations with dating, but not too many (hair or not) are walking on sunshine

I couldn't really tell you if I got more attention because by the time I started dating my hairline was long gone.

So at what age were you completely bald? And do you think there were some women who did reject you based on this alone?

I'm 35 and surprisingly still have a lot of hair, it's just thin. Then I got that thick jew hair on the side. I tried to grow a fro when I was 23 and the top looked like weeds. I keep it close cropped and get haircuts frequently. It's just always looked half ass. Yeah of course some women don't like it, If it ain't it's another. That's just life.

I shaved my head when I was 24, after getting dumped by an ex. It was brutal early on, but I grew into it. Worked on my self-esteem, grew a beard, bulked up some.

I'd say my niche has changed. I've lost attention from women who are into pretty guys, and gained attention from women who are into rugged-looking guys.

The thing is, most things are turn-offs to most women.

Your real audience isn't women as a collective. Its the women who like "guys like you". If you're a catch among "guys like you".... the women who are into that will chase you.

Compare yourself to other bald men. Where do you stand and how would you go about changing that?

All I can say is more men do okay bald now than they used to decades ago. I do think it's best to just shave it -- but of course, that depends on the shape of your head. Ask the barber if your head would look better shaved.

I think adding a beard to counterbalance the baldness only makes things worse because I hate beards. I think the best accompaniment to a shaved head is a good tan on the head and elsewhere.

I am a woman in my forties and in great shape and I think I look pretty dang good for my age (just saying) I just want to say that I think bald guys are sexy these days especially the ones that have confidence. I have a a huge crush on a guy that shaves his head, I can tell that he is receding and has a natural bald spot on the back. First major crush I’ve had in years! But I find myself taking a second look when I see a bald guy walking by. I think bald is in and sexy! I do agree with Preraph about talking to your barber and the shape of your head, I think a slight gote kept trimmed up is very hot!

I am a black guy. Age 47. My hair line was going up. I shaved it off and I look awesome and I know I look better bald/shaved off. Love it.

My ex bf was balding. You know, at first, I didn't find him handsome. But when I saw him smiling at me everyday, and be so positive and happy about life, I couldn't help but fall in love.

It is a non-issue, except to women whose standards are so high, you wouldn't want to deal with them. :)

In my generation, more of a problem back in the long-hair era; not so much now pushing 60.

First impressions were important IME, before any interaction occurred.

I first noticed MPB in my mid-20's.

If you have the right facial/neck structure(chiseled), it looks awesome...If you are a doughboy, it pretty much looks like shyt....

Its a tough deal, but what can you do? There really is no logical or sensible option...I see guys hanging onto bits of hair on the back and sides....That just looks absolutely horrible...

A lot could be said about genetics here.

Even though it is becoming salted along the temples with grey, I still have most of my own hair with no balding areas.

My dad had most of his hair until he lost his health due to aging. And then it only thinned out.

Hmmm. Some men might appear attractive being totally bald to certain women who never saw them with a full head of thick hair. But what would most women really prefer if they could see men of interest with hair and then without?

I will never forget the stunning incident that occurred during one of our more 'adult' private events last year that transpired outdoors under a softly lighted pergola. A very attractive former strip dancer laughed and said she admired my "rug". When I objected to this insinuation, she began squealing, jumped on top of me, and began tussling my hair; among other things... Everyone gasped in shock, as they thought my little lady was going to kick her butt, but she just sat watching this weird display take place with a wide-eyed expression... Of course, I hated every minute of it.

This is the best advice, OP. The big idea is that you need to figure out what suits you the best.

For me, the beard is essential. I'm North African, and dark skinned by nature. The beard kinda completes "the look", if that makes sense.

But this goes back to what I was saying earlier about being someone's type. The user I quoted (preraph) says they don't like beards. Now, he/she might prefer the way I look without a beard, than with. But they probably still wouldn't find me good-looking - I'd just be a poor approximation of their type.

There are some fraction of women who find guys with shaved heads handsome. That's your audience.

There's a lot of hot black guys who shave their heads. I guess the type head that doesn't look right shaved is a long thin one, probably, or egg shaped.

Exactly, you see that's my point - just a fraction of women! Backing up my point how it is alot harder for bald men when it comes to dating. You have to really work harder to find these women who are ok with it.

I'm tall, dark skinned and do have the right head shape (and I could be more buff) but overall I don't look too bad however I know that with hair I would be in a better place, that is for sure.

If I was a tiny hot little blonde I would probably get attention from a lot more men. But I'm a tall, leggy brunette. And I'm quite happy with the attention I get.

The point I'm making is that none of us is going to be desired by everyone. I'm sure you have plenty of admirers but you probably are only focusing on the women who aren't paying attention to you.

My friends and I have pointed out bald guys to each other that we thought were really hot. It's a manly thing. And actually usually occurs in men with very high testosterone levels.

I'm a woman and have never once "discriminated" against a man based on his hair. Or lack of. I like bald. I like hair. It honestly makes no difference to me whatsoever.

You missed my point.

Whether you're male or female, chances are most people won't be attracted to you. The exact reasons change from person to person, but that's just life.

If its not bald, its something else. The difference between having a fulfilling love life and not having one, is what you are. Not what you aren't.

This is false. I've been shaving my head down to about the length the Marines do for almost a decade and have never had any problem with women. You can check out my picture in my profile on this site if you'd like a clear visual.

The likely difference between us if you're struggling is that I carry myself well, am very confident, have a great personality, and a great sense of humor. This enhances how attractive I am to the opposite sex. I also honestly consider myself more attractive without the hair (I've always looked good with buzz cuts) and that kind of positive self-image really does project itself to the women you're trying to attract. Considering I'm very happily taken, I must have done something right.

I've been shaving my head for over a decade. Never noticed a problem with attracting women. Sure I suppose there are some women that aren't attracted to me because I shave it. Just like there are some women that aren't attracted to me because I have a beard. And - this is important - I have had women say to me that they prefer a bald or shaved man. It's all just preferences dude. But thank God Michael Jordan made shaving your head mainstream.

Disagree with this entirely. I'm a white guy and I can grow my hair just fine but I shave it to the skin daily. Why? Because I love it. I have a decent head shape and hair is a pain in the rear at any length for me. You'd be surprised at how many women are willing to overlook, or downright PREFER a shaved look. It's a cool, dominant look that a lot of women respond positively to. It was a wonderful catalyst of the development of positive masculine energy.

You already said you have dark skin and a good head shape. Do you realise how much of an advantage that is? I looked ill when I first shaved my head and colour only came onto my head after a month of the African sun beating down on it. I was also had a good 20 pounds of bodyfat to lose because I was competing in powerlifting at the time. All my powerlifting friends shave their heads and their wives are often lifters or figure competitors.. very attractive women who were happy to overlook that they had no hair AND that they were upwards of 300lbs+ in the heavyweight categories. I don't buy this that women in general don't like bald men...

You really need to get some perspective on this. I suggest you look up Max DaSilva on Youtube who has multiple videos on the subject. Richard Cooper's (Entrepreneurs In Cars) video is also a good reality check.

Being bald sometimes is very cool. Who doesn't like Walt in Breaking bad with a french beard! remember how horrible he behaved with hair on his head. After he went bald, he was the next door bad ass guy women would love to have. If i were you i would be bald like him and change my attitude. And also hopefully cook some crystal meth and become a bad ass distributor!
