Stooge70
A woman that I have a romantic interest in was talking about finishing nursing school. She said that if she was going to be single then she’d wanted to be able to do the things she wanted by getting her degree.. Is this her subtle way of saying she doesn’t have an interest in me or did I pretty much answer my own question? I feel this is what she’s trying to convey but I just wanted another opinion. Thanks. d0nnivain
I suppose it depends on her definition of "single". If she means unmarried, then her statement is simply one of independence, that she was going to find her own path in life. I don't really think it was her way of saying that she doesn't want to date you.
Author Stooge70
Ok thanks. I’ll keep talking to her and see how it goes. I just won’t have any expectations about us. She has been burned in relationships and a marriage before. She also said that dating for her sucks but she was very receptive over the phone the other night. glows
It sounds like getting her nursing degree is a fall back and something she is resigning herself to do if she doesn't get laid or a boyfriend etc etc. I think you should ask her to clarify herself because she sounds a bit like a bimbo. She may not know herself what she really wants or what's truly important to her. Straighten that out first and get to know each other a bit more. Be wary of bitter and negative individuals who haven't taken the time or made the effort to heal from the past. Their problems are NOT your problems. There are far better matches out there.
preraph
I think she thought she'd find some man to support her and is a little bitter and now realizes she has to work for a living -- and I don't think she's even thinking about you that way. It sounds like general talk and not something you'd say to someone you wanted to date.

preraph
Sorry. She seems outspoken enough, so I guess if she does want to date you, she'd probably leave no doubt. I mean, just in general, if someone is at all interested in someone, they won't say things that might be offputting. Anyway, if I'm reading it right, she may be less than a partner and more of a person who wants someone else to do the heavy lifting (and pay for everything), so maybe not exactly what you'd want.

I’ve decided to let this one fade away. Luckily, I had nothing invested in it other than some wasted time.

You are right about people who haven’t healed from the past. She remarried her ex even after she caught him in bed with her friend. She divorced him again after their kids were grown. She also said her last boyfriend dumped her for no reason and stopped communicating with her. I asked her out and have gotten radio silence since so I got my answer.
preraph
Hey, if she ever perks up and shows interest, she knows where you are!
Author Stooge70
Hey, if she ever perks up and shows interest, she knows where you are! . She ghosted me. It's cool though, because she's the miserable one, and I can do WAY better than her. Thanks for the input.
