Natali Posted May 24, 2001 Posted May 24, 2001 From my understanding dating someone means going out, introducing to both of your friends, doing things together in your spare time....bla, bla, bla..to make it short....just compare it to OPEN Seeing someone means either infidelity of a normal relationship or marriage, luck of commitment, not being serious about someone.....another words...SECRET, CLOSED....I'd say it's just a nice word for using someone or using one another. If you tell someone you are dating someone, most often that implies that you are seeing them exclusively. But you could also mean that they are among a number of people you are dating. So you have to judge the meaning in the context of how it's said. If you aren't sure, just ask the person if they are in an exclusive relationship. The answer should clarify things tremendously.
