carhill
If the person settling isn't perpetually on the prowl for a better deal, rather accepts the decision they made and otherwise has a healthy love style (not selfish and self-involved, common these days!), I'm good to go. Won't happen so will remain in the realm of the theoretical. Attraction perhaps is nebulous but loving another human is a choice, especially long-term.
PRW
I think "settled" is woefully ill defined here. In a narcissistic self-absorbed entitled society we live in most think they deserve way more than they deserve, create standards of what they are looking for that is way beyond anyone's reach. Whine when they don't get it, blame the entire other gender for it,...and then claimed that they had to "settle" to get what they really should have been looking for in the first place, and in fact may not really even deserve as good as what they got. Maybe I'll recant my original comment. If someone that I am with claims that they "settled" when they picked me,...then maybe I'll tell them, "Well, it you think you settled,...then leave!"
