Affair over

@maybelle - Hugs! I am so glad to see your update that you’re doing better and maintaining NC. I have followed your thread since the beginning as I was then in the early days of trying to extricate myself from my own mess. It is done and I’m nearly 5 weeks NC. It is hard most days, but seeing this helps reinforce why it is so important. All the best to you!

But I think for some people (like me) this will always be a wound.

If you believe there will be a wound, there will be a wound... but it is perfectly possible for there to be no wound.

There is only a wound if you want it to be there.

I think there's a difference between a wound and scar. A wound is an open hurt. An open wound stays that way because it is not given the proper treatment to heal.

A scar comes from a wound that's healed. In most cases it never goes away, you learn to live with it, it's a part of you. If it's a scar that came from doing something wrong, then you can learn from it, it's a reminder to not make the same choice again.

We all have scars, inside and out, some of us even deep ones. But a wound you can treat, that is your choice.

I'll never break no contact. I've said that from day one and I mean it. I won't give him the satisfaction.
