NuevoYorko
Since I have been back on loveshack, I keep seeing references to "beta males" - usually referencing how women do not appreciate a beta male. I decided to do a little reading about the topic. Holy cow! How am I just learning about this (or did I learn, but not pay attention because I was already in a relationship with an alpha male)? I feel like I am having a eureka moment, here. Categorizing people by Greek letters, colorful pills, and pickup artistry have all gone the way of cassette tapes and VCR's, fortunately. Please. Take my word for it.
basil67
Alpha: You are confident and your own man. You do your own thing and have complete confidence in everything you do. You have your self doubts, but you don't let it cloud your judgment and logic. You are well liked by almost everyone, and you just have an easy charm and swagger about your presence. Women are drawn to your charisma and presence. You enjoy being social and having lots of people around. You are a natural leader PRW, this is the first time I've actually related to the term Alpha. And as it so happens, it pretty much describes my husband. Most often, I've seen people use Alpha to describe a man who's a tool or a user of women and then wonder why women are attracted to him. But there's no questioning that most women would be attracted to this explanation. The thing which I struggle with is the Blue Pill/Red Pill truth thing. Now some things in life are true. But truths in terms of human interaction and social construct, are open to different perceptions. At the risk of starting a philosophical debate, who is to say that your truth is right and mine is me sitting in a bubble of delusion? Why can't it be the other way around? Or, more likely, why can't it be that we both experience truth which is altered by our experiences? Edited October 19, 2018 by basil67
carhill
I got an image of the quintessential alpha.... Dope (great) comment: If you caught him screwing your wife, you would give her the high five.
PRW
The thing which I struggle with is the Blue Pill/Red Pill truth thing. Now some things in life are true. But truths in terms of human interaction and social construct, are open to different perceptions. The best way to see it defined is to just hunt for YouTube videos of people who claim they have been "Red Pilled" and hear their story. It is an Urban Slang term. One of the things that made it a household word was Cassie Jaye's movie simply called "The Red Pill". I watched it recently and it was very emotionally moving for me. At the risk of starting a philosophical debate, who is to say that your truth is right and mine is me sitting in a bubble of delusion? Why can't it be the other way around? Or, more likely, why can't it be that we both experience truth which is altered by our experiences?Yea it would be impossible to avoid a philosophical debate on that one. What you are describing is called Post-Modernism (the denial of absolute truth). The largest Philosophy "show" in existence is Stefan Molyneux at Free Domain Radio. He is an amazingly intelligent guy and always interesting to hear. I met him in person a couple months ago, but didn't get to spend as much time talking to him as I would have liked. Sorry to rely on links below to other material but these two things are just enormous issues and far too much for me to try to deal with here, and I don't think I have the "study" and the mental fortitude to do it either. These below deal with both of the things you mentioned. Here are two of his videos related to Post-Modernism The Truth About Untruth | Postmodernism Exposed The Ugly Truth About Relativism Here are two of his videos on the Red Pill. One of them as you can tell by the title is an interview with Cassie Jaye of the movie The Red Pill. Take The Red Pill | Cassie Jaye and Stefan Molyneux My Biggest Red Pill Here is the link to his YouTube Channel with all his material. Haydn
Blimey. All we`re talking about here really is: `Going on the pull` in order, hopefully it could lead to a quick `Knee trembler` or a `bunk up` All labels are useless. People actually make money from this nonsense? Just hit the local, have a few `jars` and take it from there.
NuevoYorko
Stefan Molyneaux has a rich history of promoting eugenics, "scientific racism," and sexism: https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/extremist-files/individual/stefan-molyneux A natural go-to source if you are sympathetic to those ideals; not so much for the rest of us.
