snowcones
I am wondering why men who break up with you come back? I have had this happen to me a few times. We meet, fall for each other, then the guy breaks up with me for whatever reason, then the fool comes back. WHY???? Why come back if you broke up with someone? I would be ok thinking "they just made a mistake" if it weren't for the fact that it's happened so many times to me.

ExpatInItaly
There are a lot of reasons. Genuine regret, boredom, the other woman didn't want him after all, is horny. There are too many variables to give any definitive answer. It depends on the guy and the relationship.
nodramallama
Sometimes it's just to check that you're still there and see if you'll take them back. Nothing more than an ego boost.
SevenCity
Because they are lonely and haven't found anyone else yet. Yes. Men don’t find women to date as easy as women find men to date. From a woman’s perspective, this is hard to understand because women have a lot more opportunity for partners. They think “Why not just find someone else?” They often have been looking but can’t. Therefore, they will hit up chicks they dated prior during a dry spell. I recall being upset over a breakup and a woman said “Why not just get another girlfriend?” I was all “Oh good idea. I’ll just pop by the girlfriend store after work and pick one up!” And this is coming from a guy who has done pretty well with women. Ive known a lot of guys who can go months without so much as a date.

I’ll just pop by the girlfriend store after work and pick one up!” . She probably broke up with you though. It makes no sense if the guy broke up with me by his own choice when I didn’t want to break up, and then he comes back months to years later?

elaine567
There was a survey a while ago that looked at why people stay in contact with exes. Top reason for women - friendship, top reason for men - potential access to sex...
carhill
It's easier to get sex from someone they've had sex with in the past. They know which buttons to push.
divegrl
All I can say is I hear you OP. They seem to always come back. And it’s really hard if you’re still emotionally invested in them. Hugs to you my friend.
