KatCha
I met up with an older gentleman from my church today so that I could introduce a local real estate agent to him as he is potentially seeking a legal office and wants to hire me. I have one degree and am working on a second and also taking real estate classes. We were all talking after he had been shown the suite of offices when he told the agent (who is my son's grandmother) that I was an intelligent woman and he wanted me to work for him. No one has ever told me that I am intelligent in my entire life. It thawed the ice around my heart that this Christian man who only knows me from church would say something so kind and unique to me. I dreamed of nothing else but going to college when I was younger, but we were so poor that I never thought I would be anything other than a serving girl all my life. And that wad acceptable to me, but in my heart, I always wanted to study because I excelled in school and loved to learn. Nobody had ever cared as we just tried to survive when I was growing up and I didn't want to burden my parents with my needs or wants back then. My family is dead now, for a decade +, and I managed to get through one degree and have plans for more. His words meant so much to me and I am so grateful to have friends in Christ. Anyone else have a good friend they would like to praise, someone whose kind words touched your life more than any action could have?
preraph
Remember when you were a kid and no one took you seriously, but then there would be this one aunt or uncle or friend of your family who would treat you with respect and not like a little kid? Just those small little things give a person so much courage and confidence and are so important. Those are the people you want in your corner.
