Happy Lemming
I don't have to be alone. I am just picky. There is always something about a man I don't like. Yes, my girlfriend was picky... After being alone for an extended period of time, she decided to lower her standards quite a bit. She wanted a "Knight in shining armor who rode up on a white horse"; she settled for a rodent that drove up in a old white pickup.

Chilli
I'd like to agree with this statement... One friend had commented to me that I really shouldn't be happy, but I am. They pointed out certain aspects of my life and how they could be better (especially financially), but (in the end) I am content. I've nicknamed it - "Stupid Happy"; I guess I'm just not intelligent enough to realize I should be unhappy, glad I am stupid. At this point, I just ignore the comments and continue to enjoy my life, my way. Ignore the people that want to make your life miserable. Just be happy, as I am. Its more fun!! Haaaa , good for you. Can't believe someone told you ya shouldn't be happy.
Happy Lemming
Haaaa , good for you. Can't believe someone told you ya shouldn't be happy. Yes, the conversation started out talking about cars, as I had just purchased an "econo-box" - no frills vehicle. This individual strives to drive BMW's, etc. The conversation morphed into being frugal and how that brings sadness, which I didn't agree with. But... to each his own, if this person wants to work extra hours and extra years to drive that choice of vehicle, so be it. I'll retire early being frugal and driving my "econo-box". In the end, I don't think the comment was meant with malice, maybe out of concern that I may be sacrificing too much to retire early. For the record... I'm still HAPPY!! Author Springsummer
Sounds like your aiming too high too tbh and want some top looking guy but the thing there is , he's gonna want someone a lot more than , l don't think l'm bad looking. He'll want a stunner. Maybe true now. but in the past, some top looking guys want me though. the thing is, I don't just pick on look. I pick on other things too. Like personality and other things. when I was young, I can't get over the fact that the top guys had gf. I can't get over the fact that the top looking guy had had 2 digits of women. the top looking guy in my high-school cached me up after school and kept insisting to give me his umbrella even when it was just cloudy and I was 1-2km from home. I was so stupid and clueless that I didn't even know why he did what he did. I just brushed him off. Of course, I was young and knew I was coming to N.A. and to have fun that kind of thing never came across my mind. back in the era and in my culture, we don't date without marriage in mind. I also didn't know he was the best looking guy in the class until I saw on the graduation yearbook some girls called him 'preferred man'. yes, I wasn't a social and well informed person. I liked to live in my own world. the top looking white guy in my faulty certainly wouldn't mind to have me. because he liked to sit besides me in the 2 classes we ever had together and kept looking at me. I didn't know he was the top looking at my first years, because there was another guy I think was top looking:) only at the end, He grew more and more and I suddenly realized no one is actually better looking then him. He was very tall and extremely well built and had a very handsome face. so much so, no Hollywood actors can impress me much. but too bad, since the first year, I have seen him with some Asian women. that really turned me off. even in the last class we had together. He sat besides me always and the Asian women sat beside him. lol...I made a minor move, he completely abandoned the woman and kept looking at me. I never looked back at him. He kept looking at me when I hand in my paper in the final exam...sigh...learnt he graduated at the top only after graduation, which I didn't even attend the ceremony. as an Asian I detest white guys who have Asian fixation. we had class first year, so I don't know if he had that before already or after. I am quite certain though he will drop every Asian if I wanted him... probably because I was the only one he can't have? Edited November 9, 2018 by Springsummer
Chilli
oh yeah of course it's not all about looks that won't get anything very far. Although the way many talk in forums it's like all that matters are looks and that will maketh a relationship but nope it won't. Haha yeah , l was always in my own world too even back at school. Funny with me , there wasn't one girl at school l liked. But one liked me and because l didn't like her back her older brother and his mates hated me and gave me a lotta shyt, good old school days eh , not. Anyway good luck and keep the faith. Yeah , people think how they think eh, l'd go the early retirement to any day too. Funny about cars , l'm looking around for a timeless classic at the moment myself , l can't be bothered with all the new car shyt either , just money pits in the resell end. Sorry to sidetrack spring. Edited November 11, 2018 by Chilli
