puttnum1 Posted September 12, 2005 Share Posted September 12, 2005 my name is steve and im 16 im in love with the most beautiful girl in the world her name is lauren ive been in love with her for 3 years 5 months and 8 days but she doesnt feel the same about me i consider lauren to be my very best friend although i dont think that feeling is mutual either dont get me wrong she says i am a very good friend of hers but i dont think "best friend" works there in the past few months lauren and i have become closer than ever she tells me everything about her and i tell her everything about me every night i talk to her for an hour or two we talk about what we did that day and just random crap that comes up usually i wanted to know how to get her to go out with me like not on a "date" but like just hang out at the mall or at the movies hang out like friends do its hard for me to ask her if she wants to hang out without it sounding like i wanna go on a date with her like a couple i also wanted to know if there are any signs that maybe i should look for like to see if she has a secret crush on me or something like that Link to post Share on other sites

"I was in the mood to go grab a hot chocolate from (insert coffeeshop name here), you want to come along with me?". Basically make it sound like you meant to go there anyway - and you are just asking her along for the ride. Keep it to simple stuff that you would be likely to do on your own anyway, and ask her if she wants to join you. No pressure. If she says no, then say "ok, well I have to go ahead and get going to do (insert whatever activity you asked her to do here). I'll talk to you later". Don't appear sad or crushed if she says 'no'. As for signs of a crush... when a girl gives you the "just friends" talk, there IS no 'secret crush' of any sort. You are the 'friend guy' and unfortunately, while a boyfriend might downgrade to a 'friend guy' - there is nearly a zero chance that a 'friend guy' will evolve into a boyfriend.
