I went to a thanksgiving party tonight at my apartment. The rules were bring your own dish, but otherwise open mic/ socialize.

 

I cooked mixed paella.

 

I brought it in.

 

I decided to bring my best Leonardo DiCaprio party smile, and warmed up by socializing with two classic southern hunting bros who have big beards, and massive gun collections.

I then held my ego in check and held off on socializing with the most beautiful women in the room for the moment.

 

As a result of my smile, confidence, and starting random conversations, I got the numbers of two ladies in one night. Everybody at the party said my cooking was excellent. One of them was a very attractive plastic surgeon and the other was a PhD candidate in physiology. I didn't try any pickup lines, just confidently talked about what the women were interested in - and met five women tonight. Got two numbers.

 

You lads can do it too if you have more determination than the lad sitting next to you.

Getting numbers is easy. Turning them into actual dates is hard. Turning them into multiple dates that lead to a relationship,is even harder.

 

Girls give numbers to guys quite easily. It's almost a way for them to save themselves from rejecting you outright. Easier to reject you via text.

Your tactic was clever but I have to ask, what did you talk to them about?

 

 

I don't think its more determination more like an alignment of factors which leads to a success. You have control over some of those factors but not all of them.

 

 

I am going to a dinner tomorrow, nobody is single but I'll enjoy it for what it is.

I talked to one woman about my food. Wasn't romantically interested in her but we were both interested in food, she was 20 years my senior.

 

I talked to the physiologist about physiology, and we made mice jokes, since she works in a mouse lab.

 

I talked to the plastic surgeon about how cool plastic surgery is, and how she picked the surgery business. She actually started the conversation with me surprise surprise, when she overheard me saying I was taking my cardiology board exam to another lady.

 

Talked to the last two ladies about their lab work (They are both PHD students); wasn't romantically interested in them but got some good smiles.

 

I did come dressed in a three piece suit.

Very formal for what sounds like something informal....Sounds to me like you had the measure of the entire situation in respect of having a captive audience which always helps. I have had that perhaps twice and yes irrespective of what you get out of it, its still an enjoyable experience.
