mental_traveller
Yes, for some, abortion haunts the mother. But if what you're truly concerned about is the welfare of the child, then you wouldn't act so as to haunt the CHILD for the rest of his/her life by giving it up for adoption and therefore causing it to wonder why the person who created him/her and gave him/her life didn't want him/her anymore. Yes, that's what adopted kids think. An adopted child doesn't think, "Oh, she couldn't afford me. She had "dreams."" Bulls!t, an adopted child thinks, "seems to me that any mother that REALLY loved their child would do ANYTHING in their power to keep that child. Mothers cry, scratch, fight, and die for their children...so why didn't MY mom keep ME?" Some adopted people may think that, but many don't. Given the choice, most people would prefer to have been adopted than aborted.
crazy_grl
Some adopted people may think that, but many don't. Given the choice, most people would prefer to have been adopted than aborted. Is it wrong that I laughed at that?? One thing I do know is that if some woman had chosen abortion instead of adoption when she was pregnant with my father, I wouldn't be here posting this right now... Now is that an arguement for or against abortion? I'll let you guys decide... Anyway Cali, how have you been? Have you made a decision? We're here for you if you need us. LifeRealistic
Keep us posted! So happy to hear you decided against abortion. And there were some great posts on here from some great people! I do was pregnant at 20, and gave birth 3 days after my 21st birthday. It can be done. I had a full time job where you only had to work 25 hours to get full benefits; i worked full time for more money; but the option of 25 hours was there - places like JCpenney have this option. Something you might want to look into? Also there are many agencies and services out there. People hate to see abortion; use these services please. There is also WIC ( either called woman in crisis or Women, infants and children, I forget), you can get free milk, bread, eggs and once the baby is born formila - must be carnation - and the baby is scene free of charge for shoots and checks up by the visiting nurses assocation. If you do get a job however and you not yet showing do not tell them you are pregnant, because that would be a preexisting condition, and the new insurance might not cover it. Total for me to have my son with Oxford insurance cost me $ 10.00! Also, just want to add, I then got a job through a temp agency, have been there ever since. 5 years now- and I make more than any of my friends that went to college - nuts huh? Your personaliy can make up for that " peice of paper". Drive, and determination go along way. But, know , nothing is easy. The internet is a great tool, to find programs and thing you will need! I will also list links on here that may or may not help you , and also a link about adoption. And be glad you decided against abortion. So many go into that , not knowing what it intales - see what you decided not to do --- http://www.abort73.com ( the second half of the video is harsh - but its reality) I am so proud of you!! http://www.adoptioncouncil.org/ Pregnancy Centers Online http://www.pregnancycenters.org America’s Crisis Pregnancy Helpline 800-67-BABY-6 Heartbeat International Visit http://www.heartbeatinternational.org to see their Worldwide Directory of Life Affirming Pregnancy Service Providers, with about 4000 listings and updated monthly.
