Back off. You have told him you want to be in a relationship with him again so the ball is now in his court. He is in a relationship now and you must respect that. If and when he wants to get back with you, he will give you a call. This seems opposite the position you put him in a year ago. Paybacks are hell.

 

You can't just beat somebody into wanting to be with you. Right now, he wants to see where this will go with the other lady. Even you wrote he said "ALMOST WISHES" the two of you were still together. The important word here is "almost."

 

So have some respect for the sanctity of his current relationship. It is up to HIM, and NOT YOU, to determine for himself what he wants to pursue and who is best for him. Meanwhile, you should go look for someone who is available and who would like to date you right now.

 

Love is as much a matter of timing as many other things. It seems like when he was ready for you, you weren't ready for him. Now he's in another place in his life. This guy may be one who just never goes backwards.

 

I think he was very wise not to wait around after you broke up with him while you thought about what you wanted in life. And I don't think you ought to ever do that for anyone else. Find someone where the timing is RIGHT at the time.

 

If you keep annoying him, he is very likely to become quite pissed at you.
