tsnell
I chatted with a guy on OkCupid Sunday night from 11:00pm to almost 1:00 am and while chatting I found out information about his job, children, and why his marriage did not last. From what I thought we had a great conversation, but it puzzles me as to why he never ask for my number to continue communication off the site. Also from what I know he has not been back online since, and I have not received any messages from him since then. Would it be too forward/wrong for me to message him and ask for his number? Part of the conversation: Me: What brings you to try OkCupid? Him: Just trying something new. What about you? Me: Same with wanting to meet someone. If not ok with that as well. Him: Go with the flow kind of woman? Me: Yeah ( only agreed at that time because I didn't know exactly what it meant and was trying to impress).

stillafool
It seems if he were interested he would have asked for your number.

Author tsnell
It seems if he were interested he would have asked for your number. Thanks. Is it possible that when he said, Just trying something new, that meant he is not taking online dating serious?
Cersei
Was that the end of the text conversation? There is not much there to go on.
snowboy91
Would it be too forward/wrong for me to message him and ask for his number? No! If you want to see him, go for it. Never mind the "rules" about who needs to ask for the other's number. The worst that can happen is he can say no, and you know to keep looking. Which is better than sitting around wondering if he'll message you back, because you know exactly where you stand. Sure, there isn't much to go on here, but you just never know unless you try. Good luck!
