(YES this is specifically an OW/OM post, because the giant family Christmas is especially awkward for those in and out of affairs.)

yes big hugs, personally love has punched me in the face. stomped on my heart and threw me away like trash. 12 years with a man who left me like i never existed. sigh* happy holidays fellow love shackers..

I apologize but this posts rubs me the wrong way. No one is trapped. You have the option to get out. And please stop allowing crumbs and secret phone calls when you deserve to have holidays spent together.

 

Stop the weakness and stop settling for less. And if you are unhappy get out the darn marriage.

No one is trapped. You have the option to get out.

 

It's not always that easy for people to get rid of horrible parents, siblings, or in-laws that they may be trapped with over the holidays. And yes, some people are honestly trapped in marriages too, especially with financial abuse in the picture, or cumbersome local laws.

 

I'm not talking about my own circumstances at all, I'm not married. But I'm willing to extend understanding to others in difficult situations, because I've certainly read about enough different people's problems to know that they're not all simple.
