Have women moved on from the jock/muscular type of guys?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever noticed women more opting to go out with the nerdy type guys, intellictual I mean instead of going to the gym everyday buff type guys? You know an average looking guy who has a good head on his shoulders?

Different women have different tastes. All the women I ever heard of always appreciated a hot body to admire.

Women are not a hive mind. We are individuals all with different tastes and aesthetic sensibilities. That has always been the case and always will be.

Not sure what kind of “scenarios” you’re noticing, but I can assure you that both meatheads and average men have been mating for years ...

Well thanks for confirming that women are fickle.

Yes that is partially true, but women are allowed to appreciate a hot guy just like we are allowed to like a hot girl. Women are more easily apt to overlook an average guy for other attributes. Its not a one way street. I will however agree with you that women are known to dump for small little things but its not across the board.

No reason you can't be buff and nerdy, fit and intellectual. The trick is to focus on what you want to be rather than worrying about what hypothetical "women" are looking for...

Most smart people exercise. This is not high school with jocks vs. nerds. Successful and well-socialized men, CEO's etc. are usually physically active.

Well of course you should exercise to stay healthy, but what if you don't to go the extra mile to get abs? because personally I don't care about it.

In that scenario all you need to do is stay away from the women who insist on abs. Not all women require abs as a dealbreaker.

Just live with the slightly smaller pool of women who are willing to date you.

Heck even I don't think all women think abs is a dealbreaker. How vain can one be?

I’ve never liked the 6 pack guys or the guys with huge muscles. Yuck. Not my type. I like a little bit of muscle that’s it. Buff arms are a turn on for me.

bradt93 I think your questions lie deeper than the degree of abs on a lad?

Speak up, let us know what you really want to know.

I'm from an older crowd, but NONE of my girlfriends liked a footballer type body, you know, thick and stocky. Moderate biceps were appreciated but not necessary really. A normal guy who did a normal amount of chores would have decently developed smooth muscles. I find bulky gym guys very unattractive, but they have their fans, but I would not say it's most women.

The trend if there is one toward women dating nerdy guys may be because there's a dearth of anything else to choose from.

It depends what the preference is for women. I like stocky guys. That feeling that you’re hugging a huge Teddy Bear is way more romantic and comforting than embracing muscle. Of course fit men look good, but most of us are not visual.

Well built/muscular guys will fall out of favor with women, when petite women with large breasts and round asses fall out of favor with men..

In other words, if you are hoping women no longer see that type as physically attractive and now only go for guys that are doughboys or look like prepubescent teens, I wouldn't hold your breath...

Me too. I find the swimmer's body type to be quite attractive and enough muscle for me.

Me too. I like broad shoulders but not real bulky ones. Like I think Clint Eastwood has the perfect body. I think any of those big hulks are gross. It isn't natural.

That said, it's good to do the gym to tone your body and get some structure, but don't get obsessed.

ive always preferred very lean tight bodies like Brandon Lee and his dad. Ripped, but not ridiculous, strong but never bulky.

I’ve never been into the heavy weightlifting body. It’s gotta be a martial artist, rock climber or dancer body to get my juices flowing. Looks so good in clothes and....

Mmmmmmm. *drool*

Hope everyone’s holiday is going well, I’m taking a break before I get back to stuffing my face. So much for lean tight bodies today lol

Nope. But you're allowed to think this stuff over Christmas when it's time to sit around stuffing your face with chocolate and becoming glued to the tv or the computer. 2019 will be upon us before you know it, and you know very well that when once it is you should be getting your ass back to the gym instead of sitting around dreaming up excuses to avoid exercising.
