Jimmy2018
<Answers from a females point of view only please> I'm a guy that has had really great conversations with a girl at a supermarket that I regularly shop at. We both flirt and I guess she is interested in me. I have not had the chance to ask her out as she is surrounded by co-workers all the time. She has a quite an unusual spelling of her name which I searched for her quite easily on facebook. Would she mind me contacting her on facebook?? Or should I slip her my number while paying for my groceries. As I really don't have another way without her co-workers knowing? Thanks, I appreciate your answers.
basil67
First thing to be aware of is than fun and even flirty banter doesn’t necessarily indicate interest. In my experience, it can often mean little other than a way have a bit of lighthearted fun. But if you think she’s interested and you want to try FB, have the courtesy to first ask if you can find her on FB. If she says yes, then gauge her interest by her willingness to connect. Thanks for your reply. Like I said, I cant really ask her direct as she works with others close by. I know she is interested as she has shown the usual traits of feeling the same way like saying hello if I walk past and playing with her hair while im talking to her. etc
Wallysbears
Say “hey, can I send you a Facebook request” next time you see her.
L0nely
Would she mind me contacting her on facebook?? Or should I slip her my number while paying for my groceries. If I were her, I wouldn't mind being contacted on fb. That's what social websites are for. I wouldn't like it if a guy gave me his phone#. It's not like i'm going to initiate calling/texting him first anyways. I'm the type of girl that likes to have the guys initiate contact. The guy can ask for my phone# though, but he'll have to call/text me first. That's just me. Other girls might be different. Good luck.
d0nnivain
I'm probably older then your mother so take my age into perspective. I worked in a bar through college & grad school. I'd be completely freaked out if some random customer searched for me on social media & tried to friend me. I would probably ask management to make sure I never had to serve him again. It's a scary intrusive thing unless she knows the ask is coming. Man up & talk to her. At the very least ask her if you can contact her. If she doesn't give an enthusiastic yes to your request back off & leave her alone; she's only being nice to you because it's her job.
losangelena
+1 to asking if it’s okay to connect with her on FB. That’s a fairly neutral request. Why is it so horrible if this happens in front of her coworkers?
Kitty Tantrum
I had a customer ask me out over FB messenger a few years ago when I was working as a barista. IN GENERAL, getting hit up on messenger is not my favorite thing. But this guy was a regular every day customer (I'd been ringing him up and making his drinks for months, first name basis), local, worked at the shop next door, and was very sweet and courteous in how he asked. If I hadn't had a boyfriend at the time I totally would have gone on a date with him. I have never and would never get involved in any way with a man who slipped me his phone number and expected me to call him first. Even if I'd been previously hoping he would ask me out, that would kill it. But that's just me.
