We are 2.5+ years into our relationship so you could say we are past the honeymoon period and we are settling in: We don't go out as much, have sex as much...

Lately she has been farting and burping more then ever before. In return I will rip a few as well (passive aggressive farting LOL). Honestly its a real turn off. I know its a natural function and happens but my god, its practically a dorm room fart fest.

I am not uptight by any means but I am seeing a lazy, slovenly tone setting in and its not enjoyable.

Speak up--call her a slob. It's not acceptable to lose common couth of at least excusing yourself if not trying to discrete about such things. Flerf.

Does she snore at night??

I'll gladly trade you a farter/burper for someone that doesn't snore. Mine can snore through her CPAP machine. And don't even get me started on that CPAP machine, it is almost a deal breaker. I HATE THAT THING!!

She might have indigestion of something in her diet that is curable through a visit to her doctor. Easy example - hidden lactose intolerance.

Could be a sign of something medical. (Trying very hard to give her the benefit of the doubt here.)

Is she gaining/losing weight? Has her diet changed? Is she suddenly vegan? Does she get heartburn late at night?

If none of those, my suggestion would be to avoid passive-aggressive farting, since that just tends to up the ante ("Betcha can't fart like this!" *phazzzzzz*), and simply, respectfully, voice your displeasure. "I'd really appreciate it if you did that in the other room" or some such thing.

LOL I dated a snorer and that sucked. Her snoring is not bad at all - thankfully!

She does have that womanly, mid life change going on and has gained a few pounds so is trying to workout and eat healthier.

Last thing I want is a fart contest on my hands. Next time maybe I'll just say but "Jeeeessus Chhhrrriiiiiist!!!" and toss her a roll of toilet paper LOL

Doesn’t sound like you really like this woman a lot based on your post history.

Maybe you are just finding reasons to justify breaking up?

We all have traits and quirks that annoy someone. I am just venting and trying to get some perspective on the behavior.

Speaking of her weight, how is her daughter’s eating issue going?

No one needs to want to get romantic to someone who's acting like their bratty brother or sister.

Sit her down, admit your fault in it and tell her it all needs to stop.

I know Christmas has come and gone, but if you can give her a single, late gift, wrap up a bottle of BEANO and hand it to her forthwith.

Everybody farts. The Queen farts. The Pope farts. Emma Watson farts. Jessica Alba farts. You fart.

Get over it. It just means you are comfortable with each other, can be your real selves with each other.

Grow up.

It's terrible..

Yeah...I get it...Its a normal bodily function...And a slip here or there is certainly nothing to get nuts over,. but no one has to walk around the house breaking ass like a teenage kid...There are ways to be discrete about it..And even though as a guy I wouldn't do it, it's not very becoming of a woman...

I'd never tolerate it...That crap would be huge turnoff..

TFY

Be careful what you complain about: after last nights NYE party I was so damn gassy I thought I was gong to explode. Try as I did this morning to be good I was farting all over the place - so damn loud they rattled the walls. My stomach was rumbling all over the place so clearly something didn't sit well!

My thoughts exactly: it happens, you should be comfortable and understanding.

Coming out of the shower naked, holding your arms out looking for a hug then ripping one as I begin to approach is not my idea of cute and funny...and will definitely NOT result in a hug.

The difference is if it's accidental and unavoidable and a "surprise," that's not acting like a bratty sibling. If you do it on purpose, presto, you are now the bratty sibling and no one wants to have sex with that. So please, gentle people, be judicious.

Which would turn into a lethal weapon if pressure wasn't released regularly.

Speaking of her weight, how is her daughter’s eating issue going?

I don't want to side track this interesting and thought provoking thread but not much has changed: she was seeing a therapist but that stopped (not sure why) and sees a personal trainer at the gym however poor eating habits, over consumption and a sedentary lifestyle have not produced results - from what I can tell.

Why aren't you going out as much etc?

Farting honestly doesn't bother either of us, lol. Just not a big deal for us. But the other issues that you mention - not going out on dates or having sex etc - would be a concern to us.

If it bothers you, fair enough. Reinvigorating the romance/intimacy takes two, but either one of you can take the initiative to start trying. Why not take her out on a date this weekend?
