Author ShaunaN
Just been cuddling him whilst he has been asleep. He woke up and apologised for his outburst. I just said I know why. I said he can talk if he wants. Ste said he doesn't want to burden me and he has seen and experienced stuff no one will understand.
Author ShaunaN
I have to admit apart from cuddling him I'm not entirely sure what to do. He seems a bit anxious. I've put some things up on the wall to break the whiteness
Author ShaunaN
We went out in to the garden today. Going to see if we can get away from the hospital. Go sit at the airport or something. I think that would do him a lot of good.

JuneL
Sorry for boring everyone Not at all. Your post yesterday about his childhood was heartbreaking. Had he been in therapy before this? Are you in any support group yourself.
mark clemson
You're in a caregiver role right now. If this helps you I don't think anyone minds. Let it be your therapy.
Author ShaunaN
He went to therapy. They said to him he was fine and to "man up" I've been looking for a replacement bit for this plane. Not sure if it will help or make things worse. I don't even know how to search for it. Doesn't say an airline on this model.it has some writing but I'm not sure its anything. I've asked Ste, he said he's seen the real one and it doesn't matter what airline it is. I'm going to try and search for it. Any tips would be help! Ste got a canvas today Its like this https://blog.klm.com/assets/uploads/2015/07/FEATURED-SKYTEAM-768x510.png I still don't get what Skyteam is
BaileyB
He went to therapy. They said to him he was fine and to "man up" Is that what he told you? I find it difficult to believe that any therapist would tell a man who may well be terminally ill to “man up.”

Author ShaunaN
Saying "man up" to someone who was abused as a child (if I've understood you correctly). SMH - who the F is paying those people... Its what he told me. He is usually alright and its only very recently its come back to him. I don't know the whole story. Have they offered medications to help with the anxiety? When my mom was very ill, she had anxiety. It was a combination of the uncertainty of the situation, the medications she was taking, and the burden of the disease. Just be aware, his body is fighting a war right now... there could be MANY contributing factors... The doctors give him something when it gets bad (which was once) and they are saying its more environmental and suggest a walk round the hospital to help. He wants to go home. I've learnt alot about my husband, people would say he should have said before we got married but I found its explained a lot of things Its 0520 here and I'm up. I'm anxious myself this morning. Author ShaunaN
How long are they saying the chemotherapy will last? This session has another week. However they are now saying because of the type of cancer They want to monitor him and he is responding as expected to treatment. His visitors have quietened down again I don't think thats helping. They gave us a time frame of survival It is getting to me a bit too if the lower end is right, I don't want to remember these days sat in a hospital
Author ShaunaN
It also looks like work want me to start attending client sites and the office again.
amaysngrace
What does it mean when they say it’s working as expected? Is that good or bad? So he’ll get to come home next week when he’s done this round, right? Can you work part time? Will your work allow that? Or do they want you back working regular hours? They are not sure, He isn't fitting, and the cancer isn't getting worse, but he isn't getting better. They've said they will review after this cycle. Because of the type of cancer they are not promising anything. I am working from the hospital. Putting in 8 hour days, Not visited the office since this happened or a client. They are getting annoyed I am working remotely. Generally because they get me doing things if I'm in the office.

Author ShaunaN
We sat out in the gardens in the hospital for most of the day, When I say garden, its a Quad area concreted and a few bushes, I worked and talking with Ste. He said its like a prison. He wants to go home. We spoke to the doctors they seem in no rush in sending him home. On a plus point there is a different side room he can have on the other side of the ward, it appears more brighter. I'm still not happy this is a "general" ward
fishlips
Did they say why they won't send him home? It seems like a boost in morale would help him.
Author ShaunaN
They are worried about him, its due to the type of cancer he has is quite rare. He just wants to go home
BaileyB
Hospitals generally don’t keep people in hospital who don’t need to be there. Particularly in this day and age, they are trying to discharge as soon as possible to decrease cost and make the bed available for someone else. I understand his desire to be home, but if they are not releasing him it’s probably for good reason. When he is doing active treatment, there may be few options. When he is done his chemo or if he discontinues active treatment, there may be other options... It’s good to advocate for him to go home, with home care or nursing support if needed. But, it’s also important to listen to the doctors. It’s such a difficult balance sometimes - the need to provide care, ensure his safety and well-being, and offer good quality of life.
Author ShaunaN
He isn't going to do anything silly, He has this plan that pays out some extra cash for hospital stays. He has maxed it out today. I get where they are coming from, they want him to get better, but other people have chemo as an out patient. They are keeping him in because of the type of cancer and how it is rare. I'm going to sound selfish, I didn't imagine as a kid starting married life this way. I wouldn't change it nor would I change Ste. I do have a question, I have a question I have the design of this broken plane. How would I go about finding this plane or a replacement/parts. I think it says G-ZAP I've never heard of that airline, I just want to verify if its right and buy another model. Just so he can see it as a new start.
