guy45
Recently I'm using Match but I haven't been able to get a date. I've had dates in the past from dating sites but my luck hasn't been very good lately. I'm 26 and live in Southern California. Should I focus on meeting people in real life instead? Will my luck be any better then? I'm really out of ideas. Never thought it would be this hard to meet women.
Happy Lemming
I've been dating longer than you've been alive and I've always met everyone I dated in real life. Many years ago, I did give on-line dating a try and it was a disaster (for me). Southern California is beautiful, I envy you. A while back, I briefly lived in Palm Desert, CA and enjoyed it very much. Are you looking for suggestions regarding where to meet women (in real life)??

Thank you for responding. At this point in my life I really have no direction in regards to my love life. Online dating is perhaps the most depressing place to be. I'd be more than happy to meet women in real life if you have any ideas where.
Happy Lemming
Local bars & pubs. At friends' parties & through friends Used book stores While engaging in sports activities Lines at the bank, grocery store, etc. At college (during my youth) I met my present girlfriend while I was swimming in an apartment complex pool. Happy Lemming
What do you think of meetup groups? I never went to any of them, so I just don't know. I imagine if everyone has come to the "meetup" to try to interact with other single people, it seems like it might be a good place.
d0nnivain
I hated OLD. I prefer real life. I was OK with meetup groups. I did a business card exchange & one where you played board games with people. Many people like the hiking clubs Other options: * look around where you work. Not in your place of business / co-employees but who else is in the elevator? Who is around when you get your morning coffee? Who is at lunch? * go to chamber of commerce meetings or similar events * attend industry conferences * attend alumni association events * go speed dating * volunteer somewhere doing something you are passionate about: politics, saving animals, curing disease, supporting the arts, cleaning up the ocean / environment etc * niche singles groups. I did one called Leashes & Lovers because I could bring my dog. Another one set people to play golf with other singles. Hey a bad day on the golf course is still better then a good day at work. lol
Gretchen12
For your age group, try the coffee houses and bars near college campuses. There are many university affiliated events. Or try the beach and watersports (although not right now it's really cold). Sign up for a ski trip. Also the mall, food court. Sometimes you try these wholesome activities people suggest online then you go and find all the women middle aged!
