Moose
One of my engineers, Steve, has a dangerous hobby. He rides a souped up street bike with a bunch of his buddies. They do all kinds of wild tricks, stand up wheelies going 90 to nothin', front wheel stands, standing on these things going down the highway.....it's a big fad. He's like most people on this forum when it comes to religion. There is no God. Science rules, man wrote the bible, so on and so on, noone will change his mind. He and his buddy swapped bikes the other night. Steve was riding a wheelie on one of the main highways doing about 70. He lost control and wrecked sliding face first down the road, tore the hide off his hands. He's fine. The same night, his buddy Brandon was riding Steve's bike home when someone pulled out in front of him. He was doing about 60 when he T-Boned the car. The bike went beneath the vehicle, and Brandon's head hit the top part of the car window. Put him in a coma. It's been rough for Steve. Here's a conversation we had this morning: Steve: How did Dan do with CTT last week Me: dunno, pretty good I guess......I would've heard something otherwise That's no doubt People are afraid to ask you, How's your buddy doing ol, I'm so scary.lol...give me just a sec no prob It's been a rollercoaster ride. He does good, then he gets bad for a little while, but overall, he is doing pretty good I think. He has improved a bunch from day 1, still in a coma and has pneumonia on top of a previously collapsed lung which makes it hard to shake it. Today they are putting in a trach and putting his feeding tube in his side which will clear his mouth and throat. That will help a bunch as that stuff is bothering him and making it hard to breathe. It also makes it easier to clean and drain his lungs from the pneumonia. I'm confident that when he gets rid of the pneumonia he will wake up. He opened his eyes last night for the first time w/o someone yelling at him, which is a really good sign, usually the last thing before they wake up. We also know now that he can hear us and understands what we are saying, he is just drained and tired. Last night when he opened his eyes, it was a good friend who is leaving for work for three months and he told him that he was leaving and wouldn't be back for a while. Just after that, he opened his eyes, looked right at him, then looked at his mom and went back to sleep wow, man, what an ordeal.....what's his name? Brandon B Just so you know, I'm not meaning to get all religious on ya, but I'll certainly pray for him and his family No problem, I'm not that religious, but I'm getting more religious after what I've seen him go through. Something like this changes alot. I will still ride, I will still do stupid things on my bike like always, but it will change other areas of my life hang in there man....... thanks you bet, if you ever need anyone to talk to.....well, you know......now.....GET BACK TO WORK! lol, see ya oh, btw, I'll be there for lunch, I'm taking Matt out for lunch k, cool see ya then I guess the moral of this post, is to think about these things before something happens and it's too late. For those of you who do pray......keep Brandon in mind....will ya? Thanks!
quankanne
Something like this changes alot. I will still ride, I will still do stupid things on my bike like always, but it will change other areas of my life sometimes it takes a big shake-up like a loss or an accident to make us look at the big picture and ask where and how we fit in. As frustrating as it can be to those who feel God and faith are the solution, we've got to remember that each faith journey is a very personal one, and people will come to their conclusions when they are meant to, not a moment sooner (think of the parable of the Prodigal Son). Just keep modeling your faith quietly but unyieldingly – sometimes God uses us as the instrument to inspire another to seek Him out. I'll definitely keep the boy in my prayers, as well as his family ...

sundrop
Moose, I will put Brandon on our prayer list. It took a plane crash kiiling ten of my ex boyfriends friends and coworkers for him to come around. He knew I beleived in god and went to church and had a prayer list with my friends. On the way back from the funerals, a very emotionally draining day, three in one day. He asked me about god and I told him everything I could. He's not a very reliogous person, because of the family he was raised in, but I was happy and honored that he had asked. I pray everyday for him in my prayers and ask the god to touch his heart. I never pushed anything on him, and every once in a while he would ask me to help him pray for something or someone.
whichwayisup
I'm not a religious person, but I do believe in the power of positive energy and how that energy can be transferred and picked up on. So, with that being said, all my good thoughts and positive energy are with Brandon and his family.

Tiny Dancer
Hi to all. I'm new here and just saw this thread. I will also put Brandon and Eddie on my prayer list. I know that prayer changes things, according to His will. We don't always understand His master plan but can only strive to fulfill our place in it.
