Cr0oked.Butterfli
Right. I have been eating healthily for about six months now and am slowly but surely reducing my size, since Saturday i began at the gym and intend to go three times a week for about and hour and a half - as I have no other days spare to go there. Now, I'm a size 12/14 - UK sizes - at the moment and hope, by about March to be a size ten - my arms and legs thinner, my stomach toned. I decided t do this because I am bipolar and found out that it is my appearance that makes me swing from one end of the mood spectrum to the other -- I can't stand being so very fat. It actually developed to cutting and scolding myself a few months ago but I'm stopping that -- I have stopped. So, I thought I'd make this diary type thing on here - update everyday - just to record my moods, my feelings, what I have and haven't eaten during the day, to keep track of things and also that if anyone would offer words of advice here and there I would be so very grateful -- I've never had a dream I hadn't planning on making a reality and I will be a size 10 and hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later! Oh and does anyone know of any little exercises that will slim my arms/legs I can do in the home as I can only get to the gym three times a week - as I stated before. Thank you. What I have cut out of my Diet: Pastry. Chocolate. Biscuits. Cakes. Fizzy drinks. Ice Cream - a real grr for me...I love Ice Cream! Sweets. I eat a lot of fruit - way over the recommended five portions a day and drink only juice and water - also I'm vegetarian, so I tend to eat lots of veggies! Now I've just been to the gym and should really go bathe! haha... Toodles <
JS17
Congrats Cr0oked.Butterfli I'm a Vegan so I know what you're dealing with We have a tendency to fall into the trap of too many carbs. I'm guilty of eating too many fruits as well. I've turned to nuts and seeds to take the place of some of those carbs and fruits and that seems to be helpful. Also cutting out sugar almost completely has helped as well. The carbs that you're eating, make sure that they're complex carbs and not simple carbs like many crackers or white bread. Also, stay away from getting your servings of fruit in your drinks if you can. Try to stick to whole non-dried fruits, where you can. There are also a lot of great vegetarian sites out there so look up some new healthy recipes and enjoy I have light weights at home that were very inexpensive that I use to do a quick workout when I can't get to the gym. Try doing some flys, curls, etc for your arms and squats and lunges for your legs with these weights.
Author Cr0oked.Butterfli
*smiles* Thanks. Yeah, most of the time I have Pitta bread, or wholemeal - though I'm not too keen on it...oh well. And maybe I'll start doing those exercises in the evenings... <3 tasha. Blackfrost
Your journal is a wonderful idea. Keep with it - you'll look back on it one day - years from now, and it will remind you of how hard to worked to accomplish your goal. I also reccomend you take a couple of pictures of your body now, so you can also see how hard you worked to make it into the body you will earn by eating right and exercising I keep one of these myself, and log all my food each day, my cardio instensities, weight lifting routines, and how I felt that day about myself. I'm already months and months into my journal, and am fascinated when I go back and read some of the statistics I have kept, look at the monthly pictures of my body, and see just how much hard work I have put into myself - and how much better I feel about "me" now. The exercises that JS17 suggested are excellent once you get a small set of weights. Until you have weights, I would suggest a good walk or jog every other night, as well as pushups, situps, leg lifts, and side crunches. You'd be amazed at how much these simple exercises will get you in shape as well Cheers
Author Cr0oked.Butterfli
Okay. Tuesday. Not feeling good today - it’s a low period and will probably last a few days before swooping up and making me all high…that’ll probably happen Thursday after rehearsals. Always does…Drama = my natural high. They’re thinking about putting me on extra medication to make my mood swings less…volatile. So I won’t be super jittery happy but I will be feeling okay and I won’t get suicidal low. So that sound promising. I hope… Anyway today… I had an Apple for breakfast - got up too late for cereal and had to get to college. For Lunch I had a cheese roll - not the healthiest, though not the worse…I just bought some pitta bread so that should be healthier. And for dinner I believe I’m having Pasta with vegetables. All day I have drank water and a few swigs of squash…nothing unhealthy really, I believe today was fairly successful in that area. I went to the gym. Yay. Lol… Did six repetitions of ten on each of the toning machines, using little weight but many reps - I don’t want great hulking muscles, just to be toned. Then went and did ten minutes on the Air Walker and ten minutes on the Bike - slowly but surely building up my stamina and burning those muscles! Thanks for the lovely votes of confidence and I intend to walk the dog with the family almost every night and do a few exercises to tone up too… Well, I have nothing more to blog about so…I’m off to read…or mope. <3 tasha. pippen_2k
Even though we are dieting we still have to eat smart and well. Having just an apple for breakfast and some bread for lunch has probably given you ZERO nutritionous value... and hence you will have no energy for your gym session in the afternoon. Eating 5 meals a day is ideal ( as long as they are balanced and not too large ) as it keeps our matabolism active and we burn our foods more efficent. Starving yourself or skipping meals should be avoided, as it makes dieting really unpleasant and can cause people to give up. Good luck
Author Cr0oked.Butterfli
Hmm, yeah, feeling ill today... I'm at home. Icky. But I did have some good news, my Mum spoke to her friend - who is a fitness instructor - and she gave me what I'm best to do at the gym. Bike - 20 minutes. Rowing - 10 minutes Air Walker - 20 minutes. Abdominal toning machine-thing-o - about 10 reps of 10. Excellent. So far I've had a small bowl of cereal for breakfast, a plum and vegtarian home-made Sheperds Pie for lunch. ...that's all for now.
Author Cr0oked.Butterfli
Ack. Thursday. Still ill and feeling kinda fat. Will so not be at college tomorrow as one feels like a worm that a huge fat thing trampled all overr...nice imagery there, I think. So....I haven't eaten much today: A bowl of cereal and an apple. I'm about to go get dinner...no idea what it is...just hungry. =P
Author Cr0oked.Butterfli
Monday. Food: Cereal. Half fat Milk...w00t =P Pitta Bread containing low fat cheese and salad. Vegetable lasagne and a few oven chips. Low Fat yougart and a couple of handfuls of Sunflower seeds. I've been to the gym...yay. Feeling a little upbeat today which is always good, still totally doubting my ability to lose weight off of my legs though and that is rather depressing...*sigh* <3 tasha.
