broke up 5 most ago, together 11 years.. no acknowledgement of my birthday

I broke up with him in the fall and moved out. we'd broken up before. he always sent me a happy birthday message even when we weren't speaking.

 

My birthday came and went.....nothing.

 

Crushed.

My guess is you are still holding out hope that you'll get back together at some point.

 

You broke up with him for a reason. And you say he previously wished you happy birthday even if you weren't speaking. Doesn't sound like the relationship was a healthy one.

 

Most of the time exes can't remain friends and it's best to have a clean break and move along. That's probably his view.
