UCFKevin
Do girls simply tease for attention? Last night I'm at my local bar hang out, and I'm sitting up at the bar waiting for my food to arrive, and there's this really cute girl next to me with her friend, talking. At one point, they both kinda look at me and the cute one swings her hair into my face and giggles and does that whole shoulder touching thing. "Did you do that on purpose?" "Yeah, I did, sorry." "Nah, it's okay, I kinda liked it." "Good. I saw you just sitting there so I figured I'd do something." "Oh. Yeah, I'm just waiting for my grilled cheese sandwhich to come." "You got a grilled cheese? That's so hot. I love grilled cheese." They go back to talking. I continue to wait for my food. I overhear the cute one say, "He's cute," and then she leans back into me and stays in that position for a moment. I ask, "Did you just say he's cute and then lean into me?" "Yeah, I did. You are." "Well that's kind of convenient because I think you're really cute too. What's your name?" "Courtney." "I'm Kevin. Sorry if I'm kinda blunt." "It's okay, I'm blunt too. I have a boyfriend." That, I did not see coming. So I pretty much lost all interest. I tell her that I'm not the type of guy to flirt with someone when they're taken and she respected that and I walked away after my food came. So what the hell?
Outcast
Ego boost. Not only women are guilty of this.
Jayhawks
She just wanted to see if you would notice her. It is a game women and men play. It is all about attention and ego. She may not have even had a b/f but the fact that you noticed her is enough. I know women who dress up and go out just to drive the men crazy. No intention of hooking up, just stroking their ego. Author UCFKevin
Well, afterwards, apparently she did the same thing to another guy but that guy's girlfriend was there and threatened to beat the crap out of her and she just took off in a tiffy. Boy, she was friggin' hot, though...
Cecelius
Attention wh*re. Just be glad you're not her boyfriend.
Author UCFKevin
That is for damn friggin' sure.
whichwayisup
Yup, men and women both do that. When I was reading what you said, I didn't expect her to have a boyfriend either. She went abit too far with her flirting.
JS17
Woah, I've never hit on anyone when I had a boyfriend. That would have suprised me also. I don't know, you just got a dud. Chick's a loser.
lindya
Some people can't or won't turn down the opportunity to flirt with someone they find attractive, and it sounds as if that's what she was doing. I suppose at least she didn't chat you up for 2 hours then announce that she had a boyfriend. Then again, why flirt with someone at all if it's going to culminate on a rude and sour note like that? Anyway, your patter sounded good. Nice, confident and flirtatious style.
Author UCFKevin
Years of practice. I actually have talked to a bunch of girls in my lifetime, for a loong time, straight hour long conversations, and then the boyfriend comes up long after I've already taken a good amount of interest in the chick. Feh.
alphamale
I actually have talked to a bunch of girls in my lifetime, for a loong time, straight hour long conversations, and then the boyfriend comes up long after I've already taken a good amount of interest in the chick. Feh. Decent women will tell you indirectly within first few minutes of conversation that they are not available. Something like: "well UCFK, my boyfriend also thinks that Everybody Loves Raymond is a funny show"
Author UCFKevin
Exactly. It will be brought up in a matter of minutes. Sometimes it's annoying when you're just chatting and not even flirting but at least you know where you stand.
basscatcher
Interesting post. Wish I could get a hot guy to chat it up with me. That would be cool. Most of the time I feel like I'm that overweight, shy, acne problem women in the corner or invisible and I'm not. Hmmm. I agree with most of the comments in this post. She is a tease, She is looking for a ego stroke-possibly because she isn't getting all the attention she craves from her boyfriend. Its her loss to play you like that in the first place cause if that pic is you YOU ARE HOT!! and a flake like her doesnt deserve your attention... I'll bet her bf doesn't look at good as you... "sorry I had to be blunt"
Author UCFKevin
Thank you. Yeah, that is me. I've been getting a bit more attention since losing the glasses and switching to contacts, so that's kinda cool, but still, I'm not one for teasing. It's a waste of time and almost insulting in a way.
Iluvsiamese
That sort of teasing leaves you feeling used. It's not a kind thing to do and so you have to almost feel sorry for these people. In the end, they will find themselves alone or left with the only people who will put up with them...... probably not their first choice.
lilmoma1973
Hey Kevin , I don't think she had a b/f if she had one then why did she go and hit on another guy.. Maybe she was playing hard to get or maybe like the other poster said she was a whore!! I think women do that to make them feel good and make them see they still have it.. Maybe she knows she pretty and she likes to tease guys who knows hard to say.. I personally think you won't meet anyone nice in clubs anyways .. Good luck
Cecelius
I didn't say "whore" I said "Attention Whore" -- big difference (until 3-4 drinks later).
