What are some signs that you need to give up on her (or him)?

What are some signs that you need to give up on somebody you like? I’ve seen her hanging a lot with a guy recently and she even recently put him on his Instagram profile with a heart emoji and she did it back. They do this a lot lol. I also saw him while walking putting his arm over her shoulder and they both looked comfortable. They could be just friends but you never know. Either way what are some definitive signs that you need to give up/get over or whatever you’d like to call it?

If the feelings seem to be one sided, they're dismissive, or cold towards you, it's time to just throw in the towel. If people want us in their lives or want to be a part of it, they'll make time. But if they're doing the above, they're not worth chasing.

If some months have passed and nothing has happened romantic between you, it's not going to. Sounds like she has a boyfriend. He's not just a friend. Time to look around and see other women you might like, but this time, you need to make a move shortly after you start talking to them or they know you're scared and scared isn't attractive. So find a woman and ask her out. Ideally, you should just look around and ask one out who is already paying attention to you more than you are her because she will likely go out with you.

Before you give up, what have you done? Does this other person even know you having feelings for them? people aren't mind readers.

In your case is this person somebody you talk to? Can you ask her what's up with the guy you have seen her hanging with & hearting on IG? If she says she likes him or is dating him, do back off. If she down plays it, you segue into something along the lines of "have you ever thought about us being more than friends?" If you get a positive response, immediately ask her on a date. If you get a negative response, shrug it off like you never asked & then fade away.

Not sure what you have or haven't done, but from what you describe above it sounds like she's at least starting to bond emotionally with this other person.

Side note - it appears this post is in the wrong section.

Yes, my bad, would it be appropriate for some sort of ‘update’ on this? Something happened today which isn’t a great deal but you know. My apologies for sounding childish.

Anyways we were at the theatre yesterday. I was just watching and then with my peripheral vision I caught her staring at me for a couple of seconds. Then it happened again, and then again but I never faced her directly as I wanted to pay more attention to other things. When I was looking away she did it again. Not even joking, I’m pretty sure that around 15 times she turned to face me. A couple of times laughing (at me?). Then when school ended she was looking at me for 10 seconds next to me while I was talking to the teacher. Honestly I feel like she’s gonna end up using me. The fact that it looks like she almost has a boyfriend (who I barely know and don’t have a problem with) yet she’s doing all of this is weird. What do y’all think? And my apologies for posting it in the wrong thread.

You were somewhere together and you weren't focused on her. Sounds like she was waiting for you to entertain her or something.

Makes sense. Today I was sitting in front of her and I move my leg once and her leg was pushed under my desk a bit and I accidentally rubbed mine against hers. Then I just didn’t move and she seemed bored (we were working separately) so she started to rub her leg against mine and I moved it, 5 minutes later she did it again lol. When I looked at someone behind her also, she was looking at me and very slightly smiled. I don’t know what she wants from me. What should I do you think I should do?

Well, you need to stop ignoring her. It's like you're expecting her to make all the moves and you're the guy. If you don't stop ignoring her and stop showing fear, nothing is going to happen. take her on a date and stop ignoring her and hold her hand or kiss her at the end of the night or something. The worst she can do is say no.
