What if you don't like the smell of their cologne or deodorant?

I'd use a white lie and say "I'm really sorry, but that cologne gives me a headache. Any chance of swapping to a different one?"

 

Though I didn't use a white lie when I had morning sickness and the deodorant my hubby had always used suddenly started to make me retch. There was no hiding it

We were all over it in bed one night and l had to say baby, this effg garlic is kilin me. oops.

So it didn't quite come out in the tactful way l'd been thinking about for mths, but anyway , cat was out of the bag.

Think she was more worried about missing out on her beautiful 110% organic garden garlic.

She told me, next time we went to the Dollar Store, I told her to pick out a scent she liked, she did, I purchased it. Problem solved.

just be honest with him ..... buy a cologne and deodorant for your man that you do like.... ask him to try it see if it fits...or yet go shopping together for cologne...it is about what he likes as well...my exes mum cant wear anything but estee lauder white linen....because everything else smells like vanilla on her...

 

a persons body sweat and or pheromones also can change a scent ....so you do sort of have to let the perfume breathe a little on someones skin to smell the cologne on them....deb

if I didnt like it but could deal then I would just deal with it simply because there are probably things I do that my boyfriends wouldnt like but is going to have to accept like I love to play in makeup for fun when im not going anywhere and the eye look is more intense then I would wear outside the house. many guys prefer natural makeup if any at all and my makeup normally is minimal outside the house but its fun and thereputic to play at my makeup vanity and to do crazy looks when im not going anywhere and im not going to stop doing that lol. so guess what any guy thats with me would have to accept that. so again if and only if I could deal with the smell then I simply would deal if he obviously likes that damn cologne/deoderant lol.

 

HOWEVER

 

if I couldnt deal with smell to the point that I genuinely cant stand to be near him because of it then I would tell him in the most sweetest way possible. like "honey I love you (if yall are at that point if not say I care for you) and I love being around you and I think your the sexiest man on earth but I hate the way that cologne smells and I cant get close to you like I want to because of it. Would you be willing to pick out a cologne together that we both like?" I think saying it like that it less ego damaging lol. of course if he refuse to change it then let it go and dont bring it up again and then either accept it or leave. if I literally could not accept it unfortunately (and it really would be unfortunate if he is a great boyfriend) I would have to let him go over that damn cologne/deoderant lol.
