Shell shocked...how does the math work?

So this top boss of my field in the public sector gave a keynote speech yesterday at a summit.

I know he is young from his CV. So, I googled him. Found out from instagram he has a wife, not surprised, then has an ex wife and then his daughter is going to university...so I thought I am wrong, he is at least 40s? .... but lol and behold, then I saw he just celebrated his mom's 60 old birthday!

How does it work? these people have kids when they were all under 20? and this person married again in his 30s?

talk about life in fast lane. this guy got to be the boss of so many brainy people (majority are more educated in this technical field than him) when under 40...but he is not tall and very handsome, just alright, if there is any fairness in this universe...

Talk about depression and having issues...How could I not when comparing to other people?

is it common in N.A for people to have grand kids going to university when they are just 60?

How can someone manage and deal with so many life events at a young age and still have a meteoric career?

I can't even manage to date someone

Yes, his mother would have been a young mother. Not uncommon back in the day. The child is to his first wife and uni students can be as young as 17-18 so he could well have been in his mid 20's when he had her. Marriage broke up and he married again 10 years later. Meanwhile, he excelled as his field. Nothing unusual in any of this.

No point in comparing yourself to anyone. Who knows how many lucky breaks he had. He decided to focus on specific areas and it happened to work out for him. Hard work and talent are always factors, but luck and connections are too.

There are always women out there interested in getting together with a guy who's a go-getter, so no surprise there either.

If he lost/divorced his first wife, he may feel (irrationally) like a failure inside himself. You never know.

People often say "failed relationships". But humans are (biologically) serial monogamists. They're normal relationships that ended. But people are often too tough on themselves.

First up , once again how glad am l l'm not on all this social media garbage. To me it's just mind boggling that anyone, just anyone, can delve into your life like that , but it also serves them right for putting it all out there.

You could never have found out things like that about a boss or whoever 20yrs ago unless him or someone was willing to tell you.

Anyway , educations not everything , many educated people l know are dumb as dogshyt mostly otherwise, one who's a 63yr old professor actually , admitted he'd always noticed the same thing.

You know right , some of the biggest names and most successful people in the history of the world, didn't even finish high school.

Success is very often just about smarts, the kind no school can teach , and personality goes a lng long way too.

Maybe he just got an early break , or maybe he has a good dose of that stuff.

Everything else, yeah it's amazing , l've met people late 30s even younger sometimes, have grandkids, ex's, 5 properties , some just start very young.

A guy l do some work with , he owns 3 houses got a wife 4 kis and a million dollar business, l thought he was 45ish, guess what, found out he's 31 a few weeks ago.

ps , we were jokin round one day about how he got kicked out of school at 15 and never went back, so there ya go , def one of the smartest people l ever met.

Some people just land on 'the fast track'. Is it by doing a good job or by getting away with criminal activity? Here's one 'poster boy' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Moffat_%28businessman%29 He'd very likely have been the CEO of IBM had he not been caught with his 'hand in the cookie jar'. Yet as a 'top boss' he gave plenty of keynote speeches at summits.
