hairgirl
]Okay Im in a rut. Im so indicisive anyways that im really having trouble deciding what to do. I hope someone cares because this is a first life decision for me! Well I just graduated from cosmetology school. I have a job already with a real successful woman that is in a place but wanting to open her own new shop with 2 girls I know but really dont care for enough to work with them and be happy. I know I could but might not really be happy. I know that it would be an awesome opportunity for me but its just that Its taking too long for her to tell me when and where I can start. I know another girl on the other hand that has a shop with a nail tech and I can start there. Its out towards the country but real busy in a growing location. I can work there but already dedicated to this other job. The problem is that I want to start working in town where I live because I feel that its a once in a lifetime opp. but Im sick of waiting and thinking I might be happier away from these girls. Im only 19 but feel like Im ready for a new start in life and want to be succesful, im trying to weed out the "flaky" people to put myself first. One of these girls was an ex- best friend, that I still get along with but really secretly cant stand, but Im a total pushover. Im thinking should I take this job while I can or take the job at the other place knowing I might not have this opportunity again?? HEEEELP!!!!!!!!
laRubiaBonita
you send Ms. hair-shop owner a letter, to have this in writing: That you really would love the experience and opportunity to work with her, but yu have had other offers and you just need to know by Oct. 15 (or what ever date you have in mind), so that you can continue your career. simple, sweet, respectful of your needs, as well as hers. Gold Pile
Tell her you need to start working now, so you're taking the other job, but would like her to call you when she's ready...so you can talk. Correct me if I'm wrong, you have a skill that you can move around in, no need to limit youself to 2 options. Keep a secret list (at home!) of your regular customers. If you move to another shop, or start your own place...you can send them a nice "good-by" card thanking them for their friendship. The card lets them know where you are going, a percentage will follow you. The diplomatic thing is not actually asking them to follow. If you don't have access to their address, keep the phone numbers and call to say good-by.
