I would rather learn to just survive as I am than go into the singles world. I am not cut out for that.

Life is short - don't waste it being miserable. Work with the counselor to figure out how to thrive - not just survive.

 

Change is scary, hard work. But it really is worth it. I hope you come to see that very soon.

If I were early 40's or younger, it would be different. I do plan on seeing the counselor, and figuring out how I can make it in my existing relationship. It's dificult given I am not the one with the alcohol problem. Maybe she (counselor) can help me figure out how to get HIM to also go - that would solve it all right there.
