nospam99
TL/DR eharmony raised prices a lot. The rest of this post is a no more than a discussion about tactics in OLD. (yeah, yeah, 'get a life, nospam') eharmony is of very limited use to me. Last time I paid (and see below) their messaging code didn't work at all with any of my four, admittedly downlevel, browsers, all of which do work with Match, PoF, and OKCupid. In the past those browsers did work with eharmony, which suggests a stupid change to the javascript. So I couldn't use eharmony to try to contact a woman. But for whatever reason they have been keeping my profile active. So today I logged on thinking 'keep that profile active - you never know when it will be useful'. Even though I can't contact women through eharmony, I thought it would be useful to see them. Around here, almost all the women are on multiple sites with varying information about themselves so identifying one as a potential gives me the option to contact them on another site (not gaming online services too much, am I?). When you don't pay eharmony, the photo's of your 'matches' are blurred out. When you pay you can see them clearly. If I can see a photo on eharmony, there's a good chance I'll recognize a woman on another service and have a little more information about her. Anyway, back when eharmony changed their messaging code so it didn't work any more for me, they were offering all kinds of price incentives as low as $20 for three months. Chump change. I'd certainly pay $20 to unblurr several dozen photos of women who have been evaluated as "compatible" with me. But, because of a minimum duration of six months (LOL - what I want eharmony for will take less than six hours), the cheapest package available now is over $160. Bottom line: in addition to several other reasons eharmony sux, cost is now another reason.
d0nnivain
Have you tried searching the internet for coupons? I did that years ago when I joined. Back then it was like $100 per month. I found a coupon for I think it was $90 for 3 months or something. I really don't remember the exact prices because it was at least 15 years ago. Sorry.
shydad
TL/DR eharmony raised prices a lot. ...didn't work at all with any of my four, admittedly downlevel, browsers Hi nospam99! I suggest that you use Rakuten (previously named "Ebates") when making purchases from eharmony, or Match. This is a cash back service. Enable it when shopping and you get cash back from some sites. At present, you would get 15% cash back for eharmony. Last year I paid for a six month subscription for Match. It cost $131.94, and I got $32.99 cash back through Rakuten. Regarding your browser troubles, have you tried using the eharmony smartphone app? (I'm assuming they have one.) I know you're not a fan of phone apps, but it might be an option.
