I must say, a bit wistfully, that your enthusiasm is contagious. I'm feeling a bit of it myself.

From what I've read you are a clear thinking person and what you propose would be a wonderful surprise if all the affectionate elements you believe to be in place are there.

He does indicate he wants to see you and this could be one of the moments in your life where if you don't go it will hang around in that area of your mind that is labeled - (What if?).

I'm inclined to shoo you out the door and wish a quick and SAFE trip. You make him sound like something that's worth taking a risk for.

Best Wishes

I'm not telling you what to do (as another posted rudely suggested). I am simply giving my opinion. You love each other and that's great, but all i'm saying is that it will always be a long distance relationship which will require allot of travelling costing allot of money. He career can be quite demanding so he may not always have a great deal of time. It's bound to take it's toll eventually. That's all I'm saying. People don't have to be rude about it.

I didn't think you was being rude. I saw you have an opinion and I wanted to hear it and I'm thankful for that :)

As long as I'm with him I don't mind if he has to work.

I try and be clear thinking, The first thing when he said to come and see him, I went and bought some travel insurance. I have allergies and illnesses and that was the first thing bought haha

I want to go for it, if it works it works, if it doesn't it doesn't I'm feeling it will though.

Its fast coming up. I'm flying out on the 17th. I'm actually really nervous. I'm there for 2 weeks and I really don't know what we'll do. I've never been to the far east. He said he would show me all the sights and look after me.

All my colleagues at work are calling me stupid. I see it as an adventure. I've got a "Fully flexible" ticket so I can come home early if needed.

Should I take him a gift?

That would be a wonderful gesture. Please post again when you get back and let us know how it went.

I will, but what do you get a guy who has everything?

Not all, but most men like gadgets.

I have a lot of fun with my electronic tuners that I use to keep my guitars in tune.

Voice activated recorders can be useful.

Weather radios are nice if they will work where he's at. I own a very nice volt/Ohm meter with an amperage reading accessory.

Does he like tools? Lots of little clever tools but aren't you worried about airline security snatching it from you?

Wait till you get there and buy him something local. That's probably a better plan.

Best Wishes

I'm feeling quite nervous today. I had a bad thought on the way home from work. What if I'm on the plane to him and he cancels on me, or what if he doesn't like me when he see's me. I'm so nervous now.

As for a gift he likes building things so I might get a kit or something and buy him something over there too.

We have talked too. We both agreed its dates not mates this visit.

Really sorry

Things had got hectic here.

The trip was amazing, I had so much fun. We talked a lot and he treated me like a princess. We did lots of tourist-y things. It just felt so right.

He was in Amsterdam weekend just gone and he asked if I'd like to go out and spend the weekend with him. I said "Yes please" and he sent me a plane ticket.

He has been told he is being reassigned. I am planning on spending a lot more time with him so I'm excited to find out where!

Wonderful Kay. I wish you best.

Don't miss the museum in Amsterdam where the "Night Watch" painting by Rembrandt is hanging. It covers a whole wall. Amazing.

Europe would be ideal, Amsterdam is head office for his company. Where is the fun in that. I'm excited to find out where his next post will be! I do want to go back and see him. I really miss him :(
