brownygoldy
The title may sound preposterous but I’ve experienced some things which point to the definition of “psychic”. I’ve experienced numerous incidents whereby I’ve been able to predict what’s going to happen next, eg what somebody’s going to say or do next, and it’s happened. I normalised this thinking that it’s probably common for everybody to have some form of intuition and a lot of these things could be explained by predictive behaviours. So i decided to test myself on a more concrete level and it’s the below two predictions that have got me thinking that I may have some sort of “psychic” abilities and the purpose of this thread is to ask for members’ thoughts on these incidents, whether there’s substance to this or does it sound like I’m going a bit crazy? The two incidents: 1.) During the recent Cricket World Cup, I was able to correctly predict which team would be the winner/loser for all of the matches. During the final, England vs New Zealand, I made a more concrete prediction. New Zealand batted first and got 241 runs. During the break before England started batting, I had a strong feeling that England would also get 241 runs and the match would result in a Draw. This is what happened - what I didn’t know is that a Cricket World Cup final cannot be a Draw - a Draw within the 50 overs (which is what happened and very rarely happens) results in a Super Over. One over by each team and team with the highest runs wins. Both teams’ Super Over runs were also the same again affirming my prediction of a Draw and England thus won on a technicality which was that as they scored more Boundaries during the game they were deemed Winners. So basically my prediction and strong sense that England would get 241 runs (same as NZ) was surprising as there hadn’t been any such draw/matched runs matches during the tournament and again this very rarely happens and was a phenomenon. 2.) At a wedding over the weekend just gone, my friends and I played a game - each person had to predict how long all of the speeches would take and the person predicting the closest time would be bought a drink by the others. My prediction was 37 minutes and 20 seconds and this was the precise time that the speeches took - a friend timed it on his phone. Quite bizarre happenings and welcome your thought on this. Thanks Edited August 8, 2019 by brownygoldy
GorillaTheater
I think you should look into sports betting and lottery tickets. preraph
Don't get overconfident betting because no one ever said psychic ability was consistent! But I do believe different people have different "extras" of all sorts.

major_merrick
You sound like my sister. She can make a bunch of accurate predictions about the future. All of them absolutely unusable. She even gets brief visions of stuff before it happens. I think some people have the ability. While time is linear, I think it is all bundled up like spaghetti in a bowl and some things in the future or the past can be experienced by those tuned to it. However, I've never met or heard of someone who could make profitable use of it. Best case scenario - you find it amusing, like a kind of parlor trick. Not-so-good scenario - you become like my sister when it happens more frequently. It becomes bothersome and drives you crazy, making it hard for you to relate to others.
Watercolors
I have the "abilities" but like others have said, it's proven completely useless to me because it's so unpredictable that sometimes I wonder if I"m not just cuckoo for cocoa puffs. But I *know* intuitive abilities are a real thing and that everyone has them to varying degrees. For example, when I met my roommate's friend for the first time, I kept asking, "who is that guy with the crazy short hair and funny teeth behind you? And, wow, my chest really hurts all of the sudden." Turns out, it was her dead husband who follows her everywhere, who died of lung cancer. Or, the time I was in a serious car wreck and while in the ICU, flat out told my sister, "You're pregnant with a son, his name is...and he'll be born on..." Turns out, she WAS pregnant but hadn't told anyone yet and he was born on the exact date I predicted. Stuff like that has happened to me my entire life. Am I rich and famous? No. I'm as flat broke as they come. No, I'm not like Matt Damon's character in "Hereafter" because I'm too lazy to write a book and I don't give people "readings" b/c I can't tell when it's going to be accurate or totally off base. Do I believe in psychics on tv? Hell, no. They're all 100% fakers who read books and learned the art of doing cold readings. Anyone -- esp. magicians -- who chooses that line of work, becomes adept at conning people with words and images. Lose a loved one you want to contact? DONT go to a psychic. They talk in general statements, let your imagination and grief fill in the blanks, and encourage your imagination to be mislabeled as THEIR words. Any psychic who is REAL, doesn't charge money, doesn't actively seek out clients, and doesn't have a grip on their gift. People are great con artists. Don't be fooled. Those 'gut feelings' are more than neurons in your stomach communicating with your brain. I think everyone has the ability to intuit the world around them and some are more in tune than others. Good for you for recognizing your gift, though, brownygoldy. It can help you with reading people -- that's mainly how i use it these days. ChatroomHero
It is interesting, I have 2 things that happen about 4-5 times a year. It always seems to happen when my mind is wandering or not really focusing on anything. One is I start thinking about 5 seconds of a song in my head and change the radio channel and it is playing that song at the same part. I remember one time for example it was Foreigner, Blue Monday, so a song that I may hear on the radio once a year. It is usually a song I haven't heard in a couple of years, so it's not like it's commonly played. The other one that always gets my attention is I'll have the TV on and be watching/not exactly paying attention to the show I haven't seen before and one person will say something and in my head, I say the exact response the other person will say and it is not anything commonly said or what you would necessarily expect. Like someone on the show will say, "I can't believe you did that" and in my head I will think of the response, "Well you better believe it buttercup" and then the other person will say that exact line. Not something I would ever say or expect someone on a TV show to say. It's odd. I expect it is probably social queues with the TV show and maybe subconsciously paying more attention than I actually realize. The radio one always gets me because the songs pop in my head without thinking about it and they are not commonly played songs so the odds against randomly thinking of an obscure song and flipping right to it at the same part a couple of times a year have to be pretty huge.
preraph
^ It happens when you're relaxed and in alpha state. I used to get more stuff, but it happens when real relaxed like in a meditative state or about to fall asleep or just woke up.
Justanaverageguy
Don't doubt it at all. I believe all humans have this ability - though for most its simply latent\untapped. For most the power isn't very strong and they don't channel it consciously so they don't become aware of it . After I had some very intense spiritual experiences following a divorce 4-5 years ago this type of experience activated very strongly for me due to the increase in spiritual energy. Now I have it happen quite regularly I don't even give it a second thought other then to try to make sure my focus is on positive outcomes. I had never formerly experienced it or noticed this ability before I had the spiritual experience - and at first it seriously freaked me out. I would be interested to know if you had any recent spiritual experiences similar to what happened to me or if you regularly do any spiritual practices (yoga, qi gong, meditation etc) which may be contributing to increased spiritual energy causing you to notice this ability recently ? Anything come to mind ? Also do you live in a location that may be close to something considered a sacred spiritual site ? Certainly places \ holy mountains etc put off a lot of spiritual energy which can also contribute to increase in these abilities if you live near by. Places like Sedonna in the USA, Bali's Mount Batur, himalayan mountains in north of India etc are very famous ones but there are many other smaller sites usually identified and marked as such by either religious groups like Christianity or pagan spiritual traditions like native american indians. The thing I recognized with my own experiences is often wasn't so much accurate "predictions" or "seeing the future". Some of it may be "intuition" intuitively receiving information about what will happen ahead of time - but most often for me it seemed to be more your consciousness bringing into being what you have predicted \ focused on. Creating it. If you didn't make the prediction - then the result would likely be different. It is essentially a conscious directed manifestation of the "law of attraction". Could be you naturally have high spiritual energy and so simply have this ability - or could also be God/Universe giving you a couple of very obvious hits in order to get your attention. Can often be used to show you that your words and thoughts have power and maybe to catch your attention if you are maybe focusing these in a unhealthy direction somewhere in your life. A little tap on the shoulder so to speak to maybe help you become aware of the power of your thoughts words and predictions so you can direct your thoughts and words more wisely now you are aware the impact they can have Something you can maybe do to test this and to see how this ability works for you is to pick a simple subject or a topic. Focus on it consistently for a day or 2 and then observe if what you have focused on begins to manifest around you. So just pick something completely random but also harmless. Example is you could think constantly about a famous historical figure. Someone well known but also obscure enough that they shouldn't be regularly coming up in every day conversation. So maybe King Louis XIV of France or something completely random like that. Dont tell anyone what this is but focus on their name, face, maybe read about their history and place real conscious attention onto that specific person. When I do this weird things start happening. I will sit down at a restaurant and a picture of the person I have focused on will be on the wall behind me. Random people will start suggesting I should read their auto biography or just randomly bring the person up in conversation. I will start seeing news and TV stories about the person etc etc etc. You get the idea - you will notice that your thoughts are able to actually able to draw the object/person into your day to day reality. You can play around with this technique as a kind of easy harmless way to start to learn how to focus and channel the ability without maybe interfering\changing anything important unintentionally. interested to hear how it works for you Edited August 16, 2019 by Justanaverageguy
crispytoast
Yes, psychic prediction is possible. Other things such as lucid communication and communicating through dreams are possible too. If I were you I would be extremely careful who you share this information with.. including friends and family. On one hand, many people would think you are absolutely crazy. Then there are people who would want to take advantage of that energy. And worse people who would be threatened by and seek to harm you over it. Be careful not to draw too much attention. Fekenaws
I don't believe in psychic powers because Science has yet to prove they exist. That being said, however, I find that in my own life I have a lot of Deja Vu. I'm not sure why I get it so often, I don't do drugs or anything like that, but I'm convinced that I've just seen similar one-off scenes in dreams I had. I'm a very creative guy and I dream quite vividly, so this wouldn't surprise me.
MetallicHue
I do believe in psychic abilities based on my own personal experiences. However I’m very skeptical when someone claims to be psychic and think most people are in it for money. But as for the whole extent of what people can do psychically I have no clue. I just know there’s more than meets the eye by what science defines. I wonder if some of the people defined as schitzo have innate abilities that make them perceived as crazy but really arent. Watercolors
@Metallichue there's been research about that -- the link between schizophrenia and intuition -- and the results are mixed because it's still an ongoing debate. But, my belief is that it's caused by a serious zinc mineral deficiency and vit. B deficiency. From an article in the Paris Review about the link between genius and schizophrenia, a book is mentioned. The book, Living in the Borderland: The Evolution of Consciousness and the Challenge of Healing Trauma, by the Jungian analyst Jerome S. Bernstein. Bernstein posits the idea of “Borderland personalities”—people whose sensitivities and unusual perceptions are “nothing short of sacred.” “Problems result,” he writes, “from the fact that most often Borderland personalities themselves do not register their own experiences as real. They have been conditioned, like the rest of us with a [W]estern ego, to identify with the negative bias against the nonrational realm of phenomenology. Thus they see their own Borderland experiences as ‘crazy’—as pathological. And because they do, they become even more neurotic than would otherwise be the case.”
Osho
First thing on the list to develop any specific Clair is to keep a log/journal. Second would be cleansing physically mentally and spiritually. Lots of chord cutting and better diet. Track dreams a little more and work the muscle. Don’t use any Clair that go against the universal laws. It’s bad karma to use a Clair for purposes like winning the lottery or betting on outcomes. I once had a friend that was constantly trying to drag me to the casino. And it always drained me dramatically. Like days on end. Also keep in Mind that future events are uncertain. You’re constantly at the base of a tree with many limbs. Each limb being a future outcome. Seeing all of them is easy but predicting which one will come, moves into the world of manifestation. Which brings up the other catch 22, are you creating the future you’re predicting. Many of my friends say that I jinx a lot because they refuse to believe in psychic ability. Some have seen me do it so much that they have come to see as a prediction. Others say I’m strong at manifestation. A good trick is to write down what you see and not tell anyone else. It removes them the ability to manifest and also has some proof you saw it before it happens. It builds confidence and strengthens that muscle. Don’t forget that raising your vibration by way of diet and increases of oxygen will dramatically improve your ability. Good luck.

Which is proof that thoughts become things. Also you could look at countless studies on placebos. Again showing how powerful thought can be. And just for laughs look up the government programs that were funded heavily to develop astral projection and remote viewing (psychic spying) also when reading them keep in mind the government was looking for a quick way to train civilians to do this. Not for proof of concept. Also Robert Monroe has done countless scientific studies about astral projection as well.

Ruby Slippers
I have some ability as well, have had it my whole life, am focusing on developing it further. I also agree that most if not all people could do it, but it takes a certain focus.
MetallicHue
I think it’s more of an innate ability that only certain people have. If we all could just focus a bit and be psychic it would be more mainstream.

Watercolors
I definitely agree that you have to be in a very relaxed state to "tune in" to your psychic abilities. I don't really like that word, so I'll just refer to it as intuitive instead. "Psychic" implies imposter on tv who bilks people who money because they are masters of the cold reading. But I will always believe in strong intuitive powers, even if I hadn't experienced (and continue to experience) them personally.
Ruby Slippers
I've considered getting into an intuitive career field. But there are too many fruity people in the new age community I just use my intuitive abilities in my somewhat more mainstream work. It's funny, I'm learning that more and more of the people I work with and gravitate to are pretty intuitive empath types like myself. We all feel what everybody else is feeling, to varying degrees. Sweet and sensitive people
Watercolors
I think it's why I never went into an intuitive career field like social worker or psychologist counseling people. The idea of having to absorb people's emotional energy for 8 hours a day doesn't appeal to me at all. That's cool that you've met other empaths at your workplace.
Justanaverageguy
I have some ability as well, have had it my whole life, am focusing on developing it further. It's funny, I'm learning that more and more of the people I work with and gravitate to are pretty intuitive empath types like myself. We all feel what everybody else is feeling, to varying degrees. Sweet and sensitive people Really cool to hear I also experience this - feeling energy\emotions of people around me - as well as places and sometimes even objects. I'm curious as it sounds like you have been aware of this ability for some time - how have you learnt to handle it when you need to be in spaces where the energy of those around you is not so nice ? For me its only been the last 4 or so years I've had this and I had quite a bit of trouble navigating at first - Its actually only been in the last 2 that I actually even understood what was going on. For me it only really clicked and I started to properly understand it when I found I was hyper sensitive to quartz crystals which seem to generate their own spiritual energy field due to their geometric structure. If I come near a large charged clear quartz crystal it literally feels like my body has been plugged into an electrical socket I can feel the energy coming into the body and specifically I feel the energy in the heart space - hard to describe the feeling but has very powerful effects. I've found working with grounding and absorbing stones - like Hematite - Tourmaline - these seem to function in an almost opposite way to quartz - instead drawing in and absorbing spiritual energy. this allows me to block out or draw off energy from others. They have been a huge help for me and basically allowed me to function in the world. Would be curious if you have any other tips for managing this ? I think people have gifts to varying degrees. But developing whatever ability you have just comes down to paying attention to history/trends, and quieting your mind enough to be intuitive and sensitive. So this is just my own understanding based on what I've experienced - but this ability I've found seems to be linked to essentially how much spiritual energy the individual has. It seems to me like a power that is innately built into human biology - but only "comes online" so to speak when there is enough energy in the person to support it. Just predicting the next tune that's going to be played, or getting an unexplained bout of feeling faint only to discover later on that a close friend or relative had an accident about the same time (that's only happened a few times). Or the old "thinking about a friend and they call a few minutes later".
