Saturn98 Posted August 9, 2019 Share Posted August 9, 2019 The only way I would ever see myself getting married and asking a woman to marry me is if I got her pregnant unintentionally. I do believe that once a woman is pregnant the right thing for a man to do is marry her as quickly as possible for the sake of the kid. The baby needs a father and mother in that house. Forget about my own interest level. Once she is pregnant the party's over. My low interest level is not an issue anymore. 20 years later when the kid is grown up I can file for divorce if I want to. Other than that I would not propose to my girlfriend. I am due for a vasectomy in September so I have no chance of getting her pregnant. Link to post Share on other sites
Foxhall Posted August 9, 2019 Share Posted August 9, 2019 the woman is hardly going to marry you under such circumstances! not in my country anyway, where the benefits for single mothers are so good you can still play an important role with visitation rights and financial support, the fact that both of you around to contribute to the child's upbringing is good enough, it would be unreasonable to push for a loveless marriage, the child needs to live in a happy home too, let the woman marry a man who there is genuine love with and then the child has two Dads and a good home environment, how would you feel about an other man raising your child? She may choose to decline your obviously suspicious offer and file for child support instead. I am due for a vasectomy in September so I have no chance of getting her pregnant. Women can marry for the wrong reasons too so you never know. She might see it to her advantage to marry me for conveinence. It is not uncommon for couples to marry for reasons other than love.
