Nabely
My youngest cousin is an 8 year-old boy. A couple days ago, he returned home in tears. He was crying because his pet hamster drowned and died. He told as what happened. He was trying to make friends with a girl his same age that lives just a couple blocks down. They introduced themselves and it seemed they were getting along fine until he showed her his hamster. All of the sudden, she snatched it from his hands and threw it on the cold pond. She told him she really thought it could swim. Then she walked away laughing as he was crying by then. The girl's parents made her apologize to him but claimed that she's just going through childhood stages, can be immature at times, that kids can be mean and not know better but that she'll outgrow it soon. However, my cousin told us she did it on purpose. Edited August 13, 2019 by Nabely
d0nnivain
No that little girl has deep seated issues & is on her way to becoming a socio-path. Your aunt & uncle would do well to keep your cousin very far away from this disturbed child.

Your aunt & uncle would do well to keep your cousin very far away from this disturbed child. That's what they're doing. They don't want him to speak to that girl anymore. He's been sad over his hamster these days. We're getting him a new one sometime this week. What causes a kid to harm a defenseless animal and laugh about it? I never did that as a kid and we don't know anyone in the family that was that cruel. Edited August 13, 2019 by Nabely
alphamale
when I was a kid there used to be frogs all over the place, me and my friends used to catch them then put a firecracker in their mouths and watch them blow up. it was just normal for that day and age
preraph
She's a little psychopath. So sorry that happened to the poor boy. Traumatizing. I'd call the police. They ought to put her on their radar. Yikes.
basil67
Alpha, I'm your age. It wasn't normal.
schlumpy
Understanding respect for other living creatures is something that is learned. It's not prewired for many people. That the lesson of compassion is ignored by many growing up is witnessed by the numerous cases of animal cruelty by adults. If the girl was turned over to a psychologist he would likely find that she was simply getting rid of a rival for the boys affection and thus being true to her feminine nature. spiderowl
It was more than mean, it sounds like she is a psychopath. This is how killers start out in life, practising on animals! I think if I were your cousin's parents, I would be tempted to report this to social services. That girl is seriously sick. They probably won't but it seems wrong she could get away with this. Also, the signs are there that she is going to be trouble down the line. I feel for your cousin. It's definitely best he keeps away from this girl, for his own safety if nothing else.
The Outlaw
It's more than mean. I'm really sorry about the hamster but he needs to stay away from her.
Daisy2013
I would call the police and CPS. That girl has issues and needs intervention now. For anyone who thinks this is overkill, animal cruelty and other crimes related to drugs and humans are correlated. Even the FBI says this. She’s young, but the way she walked away laughing is disturbing. Later, she will do worse. Get her while she’s young and it might be stopped.
Author Nabely
Glad to hear most of us are on the same page about how messed up it was what she did. My cousin can't understand why someone would laugh at a hamster drowning and dying. when I was a kid there used to be frogs all over the place, me and my friends used to catch them then put a firecracker in their mouths and watch them blow up. it was just normal for that day and ageThat's disturbing. I hope you stopped doing that.
Author Nabely
It was more than mean, it sounds like she is a psychopath. This is how killers start out in life, practising on animals!I once did a small research project on this topic on a psychology class. Their mentality is so disturbing. I still find it hard to comprehend why would a child want to hurt or kill an animal for no reason other than making it suffer. I think if I were your cousin's parents, I would be tempted to report this to social services. That girl is seriously sick. They probably won't but it seems wrong she could get away with this. Also, the signs are there that she is going to be trouble down the line. I feel for your cousin.
