I'm the Odd Man Out

Glad you took the high road and attended anyway. I don't know if I'd been able to do the same if I were in your shoes.

You are so prescient PreRaph. That is exactly what I did. After listening to the lame excuses I got for being skipped over I left the Saturday Mall group and joined the Thursday night group.

It's worked out for me except some of Thursday night people are really quirky. They can be acid blunt also but that I can handle.

Your best move. Life is too short to kiss asses.

Any form of art is about personal expression unless you are just trying to impress the girls and I have been guilty of that.

All musicians have been guilty of that. That seems to be the main incentive to learn to play. Nothing wrong with that. It used to totally elevate a person's life. That may not be as true now that the music renaissance is over and focus is in other mediums. But you won't get girls swooining playing computer!

I can understand how this irks. One wonders why people cannot just behave with consideration rather than succumb to their egos! It's true you don't need this kind of hassle when going out to relax and have fun.

One group's loss is another group's gain!

It sounds like there are a good number of musicians to share with there. It is good to know these groups thrive all over the world.

It's quite 'interesting' being a female guitarist. I usually receive plenty of 'advice' from fellow musicians which I try to take in good humour. Some of it is useful. Being small and female seems to encourage this kind of thing.
