Author JS17 Posted October 1, 2005 Author Share Posted October 1, 2005 Just got back to my place after rushing to the hospital and leaving work in the middle of the day because mom broke down and was afraid of the procedure she had today. Dad is close by so he went right over until they took her. I came in when they brought her to recovery and stayed with her. The end result....they still don't know anything. 3 days of crazy tests and they still don't know what's wrong with her. The good thing is that her case is so interesting because of her young age and their inability to figure it out that all of the doctors are watching her really carefully. The end result is that she has blood in her brain but they don't know what caused it. They can't tell if there's a mass in there so they are going to try to wait for the blood to absorb back into her brain and rerun the CAT scans, MRIs and other tests. We kind of have a wait and see situation. It's pretty scary. She could be fine and nothing ever happens again but it feels like a ticking time bomb. But for now, this is it. They think she had a mini-stroke and they're not sure if its from medication side effects or from something else. She's 53 years old. It's incredible how fast and hard these things can just happen out of nowhere. At least we have some answers now and it will just be something that has to be watched from here on out.
