Some, not all, prisons have nice mobiles or apartment blocks for conjugals (now called 'family visits') which one can request to reserve on a rotating basis. IDK if Avenal still has theirs but did have some when I was out there. I worked in the oil fields in the area when they were building the prisons at Avenal and Coalinga. Considering how hard it generally is to get there, the guys who do are overwhelmingly risk takers and rule breakers and we guys learn at a young age that girls generally like that kind of stuff at an emotional level. Wild, later 'tamed' wild into law and order, is attractive. Attractiveness is the fuel of sexual relationships. Be attractive and don't be unattractive. Remember that SNL skit with Tom Brady? Yup!

Dudes in prison have literally nothing better to do than workout, especially since many of them are considered soldiers in a war against other prison gangs. Not only that, but they can't exactly afford to eat the kind of food we get on the outside, the food that makes us all fat. Many of those guys get fat once they get out of prison.

 

I certainly agree, they have a different set of problems. That being said, gay men manage to have lower BMIs. Many str8 men are just not trying to look good for women. Gay men have more body image issues from what I understand. Str8 men seem more body inclusive.

Ti be fair, plenty of nutty women have many male admirers. Sometimes these women are literally killers.

 

Yes, attractiveness helps. Men love attractive women. It's a lot easier to find an attractive woman than man. I see plenty of couples in which the woman is prettier, so it's not like women dont date down looks wise. I've known guys who stayed with a woman who was abusive presumably bc she was good in bed and attractive.

Exciting, to be sure, but the thread is about an article asserting women prefer psychopaths. Deflection is a pretty worthless technique, with me anyway. Might work on others though. Many are easily manipulated. Maybe the women can manipulate the psychopaths to be better men!

People in general tend to admire the fearless, the risk takers, the people who don't give a damn, who live their life and to hell with everyone else. The devilishly clever people, the "leaders", the manipulators, even the criminal and the violent.

These people are seen as interesting, as heroes, as people to look up to, as winners. We tend to see strength and power.

Those traits are generally seen as attractive.

Our movies are full of such "psychopaths".

We may all be pretty "boring" and regimented in our little lives but a person who "doesn't care", who is "plotting against the system" and "rebelling" is someone we(gen) tend to be drawn to.

 

Of course there is admiring from afar, being mesmerised, being highly attracted and there is actually turning that fascination into real life.

 

Most sensible people whilst they are willing to admire from afar, will say "Hell no!", when given the opportunity to get closer IRL.
