Nicest / sweetest compliment you've ever received from the opposite sex

Recommended Posts

* you're always full of interesting facts, on any topic!

* my mam plans to divorce after she saw our video of dancing and your hips

* I went out with you because there was never any agenda with you. You are genuine and you do what feels right

I think those three are my favourite

When traveling through Germany as a younger man, I met a beautiful French woman who told me,”You are far more than I expected” after I held her through the night while she cried about her mother dying. It was an intimate process, not just the sex, but the openness of her grief.

It was today. my husband told me I look like I used to.

Awe - yeah I was trying to think of ones pertinent to this topic.

Not too long ago, during an intimate moment - my husband held my face in his hands and said "you look exactly the same as the day I met you" - his eyes were even welling up a bit.

So much sweeter than any "you're pretty" "you're smart" kind of compliments I have gotten.

Best compliment from a man outside of dating "you have amazing energy" and went on to say how I was positive and uplifting for the people around me.

That was pretty rad.

This one made me think of something from years ago that stuck in my mind. I was at a party and a girl there I didn't really know was talking to my friend about me when she thought I was out of earshot, 'he's so good looking, like better looking than a movie star. He's like Tom Cruise only better looking"...this was mid-90s. lol

I didn't agree with her analysis but something about the level of the compliment was really cool and was genuine so it was a nice ego boost.

One of the parts of the autoimmune disease I have that is the most irritating is how they change how you look. It messes with your self confidence ( having to wear a mask out in public a lot of the time isn't fun), but the comment was a boost to my self esteem.

Two come to mind. After we were divorced, we were emailing about something to do with our daughters and my ex commented "You're still the most intelligent woman I've ever known."

More recently, a close male friend with whom I text almost daily knows what I am going through with my current husband. He often tells me how I am an "amazing, good-hearted person" and I should be more "kickass confident" (as he calls it.) I'm working on it.

Ahh I love compliments from men but unfortunately I don't get many non-sleazy ones.

In fact I really had to think to come up with anything that wasn't to do with my appearance.

But I think it was a male friend complimenting me on my kindness and saying I was fun. I really value these compliments and wish they happened more often!

Some are probably too crude to mention, but there's been a few memorable ones.

I remember staying in a budget hotel with my ex-girlfriend. We'd just spent the whole morning being intensely intimate. I'd hopped into the shower and left the door open as I didn't wish for the mirror to fog up. The open door allowed a view straight in from the bed. My ex-girlfriend was lying on the bed, just staring at me. I told her I'd hurry up (as to not miss out on breakfast) and she said, "this is a view worth missing breakfast for."

Pretty much every girl I've hooked up with has said some compliment about my eyes. The latest girl I'm dating said that, despite not making a habit of swiping right on Bumble to guys with no bio, she said that I had "really kind eyes" so she took a chance on me.

The same girl also said, whilst being a little bit drunk, asked me how a guy "who looks like you isn't an @$$hole and is so gentlemanly." That was nice to hear, as I pride myself on not being an egotistical, self-absorbed douche canoe.
