Geminifeed
My ex and I had an extremely bad break up this year where he completely destroyed me. We were engaged and together for 14 years. When I was packing to move I found some things he wrote about me back when we had first started dating all of those years ago and one of them was: "She would make a formidable enemy." I find it extremely weird, and I'm just wondering if maybe I'm overreacting?
preraph
It's like he was already anticipating breaking up with you and results of that. Weird. He sounds a little paranoid!
ExpatInItaly
Yes, it's a strange thing to have written about you. But I wouldn't waste time worrying about what it meant. It was something he wrote when you first started dating, you say, and now the relationship is over. My guess is that this is not the first time you've seen that side of him. In fact, your other current thread proves it's not. And really, does it matter now if you've over-reacting or not?
basil67
I don't think it's weird. I've got a couple of friends who I'd never want to be on the wrong side of. Because they'd be formidable enemies.
d0nnivain
In some backwards way it's a bit of a compliment. Even way back then your FI recognized you as a strong person. Right now every feeling you have is raw emotion. It's all new & fresh pain. You know you are breaking up & presumably it's for the right reasons. So no matter what you may find just keep moving forward.
