Man, if I didn't have a way to squish ads I'd have to give up the internet altogether. The latest generation (more integral) are smooth as silk. Wipr blocks ads, trackers, and all sorts of nasty stuff. I'm sure there must be equivalents for other browsers. Works great on the phone too.

I know on some forums the first rule about ad blockers is we don't talk about that thing we won't say that addresses the issue at hand.  But....that thing we won't say that addresses the issue at hand.

There are more, but they no longer block your screen (on a tablet) and prevent you accessing the actual thread, so that’s a plus, to me.

Advertisements are what helps keep the lights on, yet we're working on bringing back options for members who want to help contribute to our operating costs that will include an ad-free experience. The placement and quantity is dynamic, and the systems are having to relearn and adjust to the changes we made to the site, so you may see some fluctuation. We have not intentionally changed the placement or quantity of ads.

 

We have agreements with advertisers that limit what we can say, yet we're happy to address concerns with advertising privately. Send us a note if you're having difficulties or seeing unusual or excessive behaviors and we can then raise the issue. Any screenshots you can provide would be very helpful as well.

One other thing I’ve noticed - if yours is the last post in a thread, and you post a new reply after that, it automatically appends it to your previous reply, as if it were a multiquote.

i like the blue background with the header...i don't want to be a debbie downer but for me its going to take time to get used too the format i find it confusing...thats not unusual for me with new things.......i miss the old format i just need to get used to it i guess...congrats on all the hard work you obviously put in...i hope the site grows existentially.....deb

The only thing that I find it inconvenient is that it takes 4 moves to get to today's posts. I wish it was on the main line on the homepage or at least on the first page under activity.

Hi. I posted under current events prime thread a few hours ago and it has gif and a livelink. So it said it was moderated, but when I went to revisit it is still saying that it is hidden, so just drawing your attention to it.

Hi, I approved it, posts that have URLs are being automoderated and have to be approved, part of the new landscape at LoveShack.

One thing on the mobile version is that it just shows the avatar for the last poster in the sub forum, not the name. And since a lot of people don't have a recognizable avatar I find myself trying to guess who it was based on the letter and being confused on whether I want to go and read the post or not. Maybe we need a loveshack version of this video.

I preferred the "like" synopsis in the previous site

I had 300 likes out of 900 posts - 1 in every 3 posts was getting a like which was pleasing (I am easily pleased says you!)

 

Now I have no idea of my range of "likes to posts"

 

will this feature be restored

On this new system, do you mods automatically get notified when there's a moderated post that needs to be approved or looked at?  I see it's happening when I post links with photos.  This last one is in the cooking thread.  Says "hidden."  I see the one I did in crime is now approved .  Thanks.

It's in our notification and activity areas; there's a number by the notification bell and hovering over it shows what needs to be looked at. You can expect, for now, all links to be auto-moderated except for internal LoveShack.org links, like links to other posts/threads, etc.

All,

 

The message that appeared for some folks earlier today was unintended, quickly resolved, and will not reoccur. There was an issue with the installation of a security fix, however that fix has since been applied and the message would have appeared to anyone accessing the site at the time.

Sorry if I'm just being clueless, but I can't figure out how to put someone on it. :( The post itself has no such options (only report, share, and ignore signature preferences), and the member page only seems to have follow, message, and see their activity.

Start typing in the name of the member and a list will appear, select desired name, add, select which ignore options you desire with the check boxes below, click 'Add user'.

Edited to add you can also hover over the user's name or avatar in forum view, like this post, and you'll see an 'ignore user' at the bottom of that window. It's in the bottom center, between 'message' and 'find content'.
