Teeth bump during kissing

Recommended Posts

I just started dating a woman and our teeth bump whenever we kiss remotely passionately.  I was married for a long time so I haven't kissed that many women (but at least 20), but this has never happened before.  I enjoy kissing her and other than the teeth bumping I would say she is a really good kisser.  It is not like I think she is being too aggressive or anything.

Is it possible our mouths just are not compatible?

Anyone else ever have this happen?

I have not yet talked to her about it as we have literally kissed twice, so I am sort of seeing if it fixes itself.

Is she a buck tooth?

Yes it is. :(

I had a boyfriend one time that was great in every other way, but he couldn’t kiss for s***. His teeth were kinda bucky and they just wouldn’t fit my mouth. I tried and tried and tried and tried. It never got better.

Well, now I had a bucktooth boyfriend once and they didn't get in the way.  I guess you have to learn to not do it by practice.  Maybe she hasn't had much practice.  Keep trying.

I had a bf once who I just didn't like to kiss.  Thin lips or something.  Felt like I couldn't get any suction.  It was a shame.

Hmmm well I don’t know ... maybe she does just need practice. Teach her.

I just wonder if she is thinking the same thing of me. lol

Just say, Here, let's both try pouching our lips out more so our teeth don't knock.  Don't tell her "so YOUR teeth don't knock."  That would be the end of that.  Take mutual responsibility.

I don’t know, I mean I could never get him to kiss right and I didn’t want to hurt his feelings. I knew it wasn’t me because I kissed plenty of guys and it was fantastic.

Is it ok kissing other girls? If so, then it’s probably her??

It’s an iffy thing. Didn’t matter how I approached it, it just wasn’t working. I couldn’t bring myself to say anything about it and would eventually turn my head if he went in.

Of course.  I honestly do not know that it isn't simply a compatibility issue and not necessarily her fault.  Although I have often been complimented on my kissing and I have never knocked teeth before.  Maybe it is sort of like dancing and we are both trying to lead?  I've never thought of the mechanics of kissing.  I just do what feels natural.

I've been in a situation early on in my kissing career where it wasn't working and I think our mouths were too far open.  🤓

The occasional unexpected teeth knock when kissing really deeply makes me happy inside :) constant knocking, not so much!

I thought occasional bumps were normal.
