I feel horrible. Ex in a relationship.

Recommended Posts

My ex broke up with me three months ago. I was doing pretty well, no contact only until she picked her things up. I was working on myself and really hoped to get her back. She broke up with me because I was getting angry at stupid things (not her). Also she was continually upset because sometimes I would not fully listen and talk over her. We were only together six months. But we had some amazing times, and have everything in common. So my friend (female), who had my ex added on Facebook, told me on the weekend that my ex had been talking with her about me, over the last couple of months and convinced me to make contact. So I messaged her today and she revealed she is in a "serious relationship" after I asked if we could meet for a drink. I am devastated, and I feel like a weak and pathetic man. She has been seeing the guy since only a month after we broke up. I don't know what to do with myself, and I can't even eat dinner. My friend feels bad that she convinced me to message her but I know she only meant well.

Even though it stings, it is probably better for you to have found out about this now so you can truly let go.

Use this as a turning point for yourself. If your ex was correct that you have some anger management issues, focus on resolving them so you don’t carry them into future relationships.

Cut all contact now, and continue on your path to healing.

Man, that's horrible. You must be thinking about why did she wants to contact you only to say that. It's pretty harsh. I'm sorry for you.

Focus on yourself and back to NC and stay there. There's not much you can do right now, but move on.

It's hard at first, but things gets easier.

Thanks guys, it's new year's eve day in New Zealand right now, I'm struggling with only a few hour's sleep last night as I went and got drunk with a friend. And a funny couple with a guy who threatened to kick me in the balls if he saw me look down one more time haha.

Yeah it's going to be a process. The worst is how everything reminds me of her. My own mind sabotages itself. I will start dating again in the new year.

Good call. There's nothing weak and pathetic about being broken up with it happens to pretty much everyone and there's nothing weak or pathetic about being sad about it either. It's completely normal, esp. for the person who was broken up with. Keep busy, keep improving yourself, keep your options open, and move on. Also HNY - hope it is a great one for you! 🎆
