primer
I am curious about which online dating site people prefer. Which one would be best for someone middle-aged looking for a monogamous relationship? What are the pros and cons of each?
Daisydooks
I used plenty of fish. It wasnt perfect. Online dating isnt perfect on any sight. Eharmony from what I'm reading is or can be a paid site and not great. My DF used a number of them but we met on POF. I only used POF. We are getting married in June this year if that helps any. nospam99
As many times as I've seen this question asked, here we (I) go again... I believe your OLD experience is totally dependent on demographics: both your own and that of the people who are your potential matches. However take the 'advice' I'm about to give with 'a pound of salt' because although my initial OLD experiences (for about a year) were very good and I met someone very special, the subsequent year and change have been futile and the special relationship did not last. Some important considerations: - whether you get to select your 'matches' or someone working for the site does it for you (TO you!) - whether you're looking for sex, LTR, or some mix - your own gender ... men (and undesirable women) can expect to need to send many unsolicited messages and wait for a small percentage of replies. desirable women can expect to get unsolicited messages from more men than they can easily meet. These are broad generalizations subject to exception. - how much activity there is i.e. how many 'partners' of the sort you are looking for are active on the site AND how often 'new' people start using the site - how much information the site provides to help you filter potentially hundreds of possibilities - whether you post photos and how 'good' you look in those photos will have a huge impact on your results, arguable more so for women than for men - where I (65/M) live, I've seen pretty much the same age-appropriate women on all sites continuing to 'be there' for more than two years Again, based on my personal experience IN THE AREA I LIVE (and only for the sites I actually tried) .... - eharmony and elite pick matches for you. To me, that makes them essentially worthless - Bumble gave me no matches from - could easily be because my photos weren't that appealing - ourtime is relatively expensive and provides 'not much' information about your matches - OKCupid has almost no activity and makes it close to impossible to keep track of the people you have attempted to contact. - Plenty of Fish has little activity but provides 'workable' tools to search for and contact matches. - Match.com .... I like it best, primarily because of WAY more activity than any of the other sites AND a workable set of tools to search and contact. 13 of the 21 women I actually met were via Match and 5 of the other 8, while met through other sites, also could have been met via Match

SumGuy
I’m in a similar demographic and found Match to be the best by far. Have had great success with Match eHarmony too limited all the free sites were rife with fake profiles, maybe they work for 20 somethings, seemed like all about hook ups
