goldengirl11
I have been unemployed for almost two years and in that time I was due to start another full time job within a health care organisation, but in a nutshell my last employer weren't willing to write me a good reference, so the offer was withdrawn. 😢 In the last few months, I have been offered 2 jobs, one full time and temporary for the local council and the other is full time and permanent at the hospital where I was dismissed from (as above) due to sickness. I really didn't want to go back to the hospital, but the position I'm due to start in another department were looking for several new members of staff, so thought it was worth a try! The references have been cleared for the hospital job, due to getting good references from college and a recent voluntary job. I haven't had confirmation re checks for the council job yet though. If the council job I've been offered was permanent, I definitely would go for that one, which would appear to be a bit more interesting. I think the change would be good too. It's been such a struggle living on benefits the last two years, but then it will also be tight whilst doing the hospital job (early, mid and late shifts) too. The 9-5 council job pays approx £2,000 more a year, but is slightly further away in a bigger town. I have also lived in a single council flat for approx 7 years. I plan to turn down one of the jobs over the next day or so and am writing an e-mail at the moment. Would appreciate any advice please. 🙏 Edited January 14, 2020 by goldengirl11
