Valentines text from ex

My and my last boyfriend broke up last Summer - we had only been together for a year. He decided he wanted to take a job a long way from me and that I would ‘never be good enough’ for his parents.

It was a horrible break up and I was so upset.

I had not heard anything from him until Christmas - he sent an email wishing me happy christmas and then yesterday he sent me a text message wishing me happy valentines day. No questions or anything.

I ignored them both - and have since moved on with a new partner.

I cannot stop thinking about these messages though - I find it so manipulative. He obviously knew how much I adored him and cared for him and I was crushed when it ended.

Any thoughts or supportive advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Ewww that sounds so manipulative and creepy. I think you s should block him so you no longer have to deal with that.

Well the positives here is that you’re still on his mind.

However he still wants to be in your mind too. Why? He probably wants the ego boost in the knowledge that you’re not fully over him.

And yes that is selfish and manipulative.

Oh, he's just fishing to get some validation from you that you even miss him to make himself feel better.  Glad you didn't reply.

He told you that you would never be good enough for his parents, dumped you, and yet he continues to text you on holidays? Please congratulate yourself on being able to walk away. I love what others have said, to block him so you don't have to endure this any longer. It is NEVER going to turn out the way you wanted it to. He is never going to come around to seeing you for your true worth. He is very shallow. Who knows how many other exes he is texting  and "bread crumbing." Block him so that you won't have to wonder about him any longer. He's nothing but a player and he has no heart to say the things he did to you and treat you the way he did.

He probably didn't have a date for Valentine's and wanted a little ego-stroke from you.

Continue to ignore him.

Either that or he was baiting her hoping she'd ask and then he'd brag that he had a date.

If you hang onto this clown, that's on you at this point.  He's giving you no reason to.
