What might be the reasons for an ex blocking and avoiding you?

Thank you, I've already spent most of today writing down things that might be stopping me from moving on, and looking at a few books that I think might help. I feel still slightly scared at a future without him, but at the same time I recognise that he just couldn't offer the respect or love that someone needs. Thank you for the support, it means a lot.

I wish to truly have no feelings for him, but it's hard. I resolve every day not to contact him though, and I am succeeding so far.

Hahaha we all wish the same. Who wants to suffer? But we have no control over our feelings. I feel the same but still I think of her a lot, slowly urge to contact her is all gone. Time is your friend here. Just remember how you write treated by him take care of yourself you'll be fine. You are doing great take it a day by day. His behavior isnt your problem anymore.

Hi there,

I am in a fairly similar situation here and your story is a lot like mine. In my case, she told me specifically that she didn't want to be friends the last time we spoke, that was 7,8 weeks ago. It took me a long time to recognize and accept that the other person choose not to be with you and there is not we can do to change that. We will never be able to change how other people feel or think, apart from ourselves.

Even after cutting contact for this long now, I still get the urge and temptation to  contact her. Reading your story also gave me a idea what would happen if I contact her right now: getting blocked.  All I can say is that it does get better with time and less communication. I think about her everyday, but I don't have the intense anxiety  attacks anymore like I did at the beginning.

Truth is harsh and nearly impossible to accept, because of how much it hurts. Life isn't always perfect, and we won't always get what we want. At the end of day, we have no other choice but to move on with broken heart. Just remember that millions of other people are with you on this journey of find ourselves and mending our broken heart.

It is very difficult to accept, yes. Suddenly it feels as if everyone else gets what they want, so sometimes it's helpful to be reminded that no, not everyone does, and heartbreak is a part of life for most of us.
