Backinthesaddleagain
Hey there everyone. I am back in the dating scene after almost 20 years ( I am a male, 41, from the US). I have been lurking here for advice and tips the last month or so, and it is nice to have different perspectives about it all. The last time I was single, there was no such thing as OLD. I have found it to be very frustrating and mechanical. I was casually seeing someone I met at a bar for a few months, but we weren't a match and she was throwing a lot of red flags so I had to move on. I have been on 1 date with a woman I met on Tinder, but I liked her more than she liked me so that went nowhere as well haha. I had another date scheduled for tonight, but we are both sick so we are rescheduling for later this week if possible, but we are both very busy with work, kids, etc. I look forward to reading more threads about the struggle, and hopefully you guys can listen to me whine and let me know when I am being a dum-dum. :)
carhill
Welcome to LS... IMO, given the long hiatus from dating, and it being a couple decades, I'd stick to real life meets, socialize and network more. 2

I am going to do both so I have the best possible chance of meeting someone I like with similar interests, despite the fact that OLD is repetitive and annoying. My first Tinder date went amazing, but like I said, I was just more into her than she was into me. I am really looking forward to my next date though. Hopefully for me it goes well. But hopefully for all of you, it goes s***ty, so I can come on here and have juicy and crazy stories to tell! lol

You are welcome to read past posts about this OLD topic. Basically, OLD is not the ideal environment for one to look for healthy and stable relationships, because it's an unregulated market where goods are sex and money. if you're a healthy 41 male, you can find other environments to meet women, for example gym, a Spanish language class, a music class, an indoor climbing club... etc... You know what I mean. Along with that, you need to learn the principles about human psychology in the game of dating. My go to advice on OLD use something in addition to Tinder. If nothing else the user interface and ease of use I found for most free apps was horrible.
